Not necessarily concerned, just seems weird. No sign of him at the combine or during the free agency stuff. Seems like Schoen (as he should) asks for input from Shane Bowen on the defensive side of the ball, but no sign of Kafkas input. I am hoping it’s just the way the show was edited.

I don't disagree but let's look at when Bowen was in it. I didn't watch the last episode but the times he was in it that I remember was to prep the scouts and management on what he was looking for. Kafka is in his third year here. It is Bowen's first so that is probably why. I think they showed Bowen when Schoen made a comment about a defensive player (was it Burns?). Was that it? If so, it makes sense as he is a first year coach here. But, yes, Kafka could have been in it at some point. Also, Kafka was coaching the East West Shrine Bowl. Maybe he didn't want to be mic-ed up during it.
The special team coach, The defensive line coach, the linebackers coach, the TE's coach, OMG they never showed a conversation with the running backs coach about Saquon leaving OMG !!!!!
It is not the objective to show every conversation with every coach.
Kafka has a podcast tonight on Twitter with The Athletic..did you see that ???
and Mike Kafka seems like a nice guy, but has one of the most boring personalities you'll ever see from a football coach. That's likely the reason he hasn't been on yet.
Him maybe asking to not be on TV. Daboll didn't want to but they couldn't keep the head coach out of the show. Having Kafka refuse is a way to allow Daboll to have private conversations with Kafka that kept of camera.
This is sold more as a front office centered show. Even the stuff with Bowen is more him being told more then asking his opinion.
we have not seen him. But he may not want to be on TV and the only offensive coach we have really seen is Daboll. The show is 80% Schoen, which makes sense in the off-season. Maybe he will be in on the next show on the draft.
Or playing T-Ball with kids?

you seem to post a lot of concern threads.

Why wouldn’t he be with the team for week 1?
That makes no sense….if he was gonna leave or be fired…..would have happened after last season ended
And neither you or I knows how much influence he will have in game plans

This is one of the silliest things Ive read today..
You think Kafka is on the hot seat in July right after a promotion?
Quote:
His influence is very low on the pecking order. He’s OC by title only, and there’s a non zero chance, IMO, that he’s even with the team week 1.

I can only assume by "non zero chance" he means like 100%

Did you mean Week 1 of the 2025 season, because then your comment would make some sense? Otherwise, no sense at all.
Watching Hard Knocks and seeing what goes on now behind the scenes only magnifies the stupidity of posts like this.
Lol. "non zero chance".
