NFT: EA CFB25

SoZKillA : 7/19/2024 7:48 am
Haven’t seen a thread.

11 years and we finally got CFB game again.

This game is absolutely amazing. Idk if it’s from not having it for so long or just the staleness and boring crap in Madden, but this feels really refreshing.

Dynasty is fun, recruiting is really in depth.

The gameplay can be a bit clunky and have a lot of animations, but it’s really good compared to what EA has been putting out.

Road to Glory needs some work however. Ultimate Team is Ultimate Team. Player models are a little bulky, but all of the equipment and stuff players wear is in the game, stadiums and traditions are accurate.
I've been going back and forth on getting it

Don't have the time I used to to put into gaming, and I've been super disappointed for years with Madden never changing. Is the gameplay significantly different from Madden?

Outside of trails I haven’t gotten Madden in years, and it was awful.

This is much better, they have a new passing mode, but they have classic and the placement passing too.

Running feels good, cuts, jujes, etc.

I’ve only played with UCONN, not exactly a powerhouse. I’m sure it’s better to use better teams, I’ll be using them this weekend.

Defense is realllllyyyy hard. RPOs can be tough to start, and if you run the same coverages the Computer will adapt. I went man 3 plays in a row and called it again on the 4th play and my CB got smoked on a Post Corner.

The CPU also adjusts their defense, so cheese plays don’t really work.
Hell yeah!

This Crowdstrike issue couldn’t happen at a better time! LFG!

The game is awesome and I’m just scratching the surface. Can’t wait for the BBI Dynasty league to open up!
It’s tempting but I haven’t enjoyed

a sports game in probably a decade so I’m torn. From what I can tell it nails the atmosphere, but if the mechanics are at all similar to Madden I’ll probably stop playing after an hour and it’ll be a waste of money.

Mechanics are way different than Madden.
That’s good to hear

I’ll still want to play before buying though, I just don’t trust EA with any game at this point.
I got the trial

And played a game last night and enjoyed it. If we do another BBI franchise definitely count me in.
So it's been a few days

How's everybody feeling about the game?
I haven't played

but have read awesome things.

One question that I had, and maybe it's unanswerable, but how can EA be creating one football game that is getting such rave reviews while Madden gets rightly panned every single year for about a decade running?

What is different? And why have the winning principles not been applied to the NFL product?

I think it is different design teams. I also think it is the newness of college. Once you start putting out a product every year where the only real noticeable change are roster updates, people are going to get tired of spending money.
The image and likeness inclusion in NCAA

provided a massive boom since A. They haven’t made a game in 10 years and B. It was historically only jersey numbers. Add in whatever gameplay updates they made and it’s been a big win.

Madden has been rinse/repeat. If it went away and came back after 10 years it would get a huge jolt of sales too.
it really is crazy

the amount of interest I had playing these football video games from like 2000 to 2008 but the interest has not been there at all in over a decade. I've bought maybe two Madden games in the last 15 years and both times played for maybe 3-4 hours when I first got the game and then never turned them back on.

My overall interest in playing video games has dropped significantly but I do still play the NHL, NBA and Golf games a decent amount so its not gone completely. All the hype for NCAA got me to buy the game, I got through the first quarter of my first game yesterday and then I felt like watching TV and turned it off. I still need to give it more of a try and also dive into the Dynasty mode but the drive of actually playing a football game now just doesn't seem to be there for me.
