Cole on the bump vs Eflin.
Cole and HP Ump in a tiff over warm up time between innings. Ump docked Cole a ball during between inning warm ups...then Cole started waiting to 1 second before throwing pitches, prompting the ump to call balls on two pitches on the edge.
Something to watch...
Judge fights off a pitch with an RBI single to drive him home.
6-1 good guys.
Yup, 9 hits tonight, 8 by Soto, Judge and Volpe. Would be great if Volpe can heat up again, but man this lineup sucks aside from those guys

A good win. (However, a lot of the same annoying stuff, particularly DJLM at bat.)

Rice had a walk where he took 2 razor close pitches; but also 3 strikeouts. With his eye, I'm hopeful he can at least be decent. So far all the off speed stuff seems to be getting him, but he hit in the minors, so maybe he can figure it out.
Right now, after Judge and Soto, the only guys I'm hopeful on are Rice, Volpe, and Wells.
I have 0 confidence in Gleyber, but he's still young, so crazier things have happened than him getting hot.
Dugie looks awful. He's obviously not *this* bad, but he's never really panned out anywhere.
Grisham is what he is.
I'm glad Trevino is not stealing more Wells at-bats.
DJLM should be DFAed, but we all understand the contract, and I guess he does have defensive versatility.
I think JD Davis is back from the IL? Hooray?
They desperately need a trade for a bat and a healthy Martian. (To say nothing of the bullpen, but I'm not sure they should give up a top prospect for Mason Miller.)
I am not trading the Martian for anyone, and would like to give Arias more time. Ramirez I am indifferent due to the poor defense. But, there are not many keepers aside from those 3. BP rated the farm in the 20’s just now. Unlike the past I don’t mind Cashman being aggressive. The adage of we gave up crap for crap so that’s a win may be all we can hope for.
He has won a few gold gloves
Dugie, Gleyber, and DJLM are just not major league hitters right now. And Grisham hits under .200
Can you really expect to win with a lineup where 4 of the guys are just awful? (No.)

Yup. Either Judge and Soto hit and we win, or they don’t and we’re fucked
The bright side to this, if you can call it one, is that he's gone after the season and not a single fan wants him back, so there will be no pressure to over-pay, or even pay, him.
