so she was either murdered or died of natural causes?

I think it's great they ruled out suicide but probably could or should have ruled out natural causes too (or not) or in some way mention in the article if there is an investigation in to cause of death.

It specifically mentioned suicide was ruled out and Omar was out of town. It reads like it was foul play because they made it specifically clear it wasn't suicide and makes sure to note Omar had an alibi. You'd think if it appeared to be natural causes, it would have specified. Will definitely be following. Always liked Omar. Awful for him.

accidents at home do occur, even with "younger" people. I forget the number but it's something like 500 people die per *day* on bathroom falls, obviously one has to assume most are seniors.
right

I get why they mentioned Omar was out of town, naturally first place people go to in their mind when they learn it's not a suicide is the husband/boyfriend/ex one of those two if applicable.

But usually an article like this would say "foul play is not suspected" or "an investigation is underway" - it says neither.
I spotted Omar at the Vegas Summer League (basketball) last week

This is no joke. Almost two years ago, I took a spill going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I knew I hit my head pretty good but woke up the next day feeling ok so I didn't think anything of it. I go to bed the following night, and the next thing I remember is waking up in a hospital bed...10 days later.

I had a subdural hematoma that required emergency surgery. I had a 50% chance of survival, which sounds pretty good, but the normal person has a 100% chance most days :-) I was paralyzed on my left side and had to stay in a rehab hospital for 5 months re-learning how to walk and use my left hand.

It's not exactly the same thing, but when I was like 11-12 I played YMCA basketball. There isn't enough indoor gyms in my town for all the teams to practice in so some practices were on an outdoor court. Sand would accumulate on the court and you'd have to sweep it off quite often. My coach at the time was playing a game with us and he went up for a layup and slipped on the sand. It wasn't a hard fall. He got right back up and continued playing. Everything seemed fine. Saw him for practice 2 days later. The next morning his Daughters were getting ready for school and went to wake him up. They thought it was odd as he was normally up before them, but just figured he was tired. Unfortunately they found him dead in his bed. The cause of death was a brain aneurysm from the fall.
All of these fall

examples are obviously possibilities.

Normally in an article like this one they would contain more details that were sharable at the time of the article.

"Cause of death is not yet known, but foul play is not suspected". "The cause of death is under investigation". "the death is being treated as suspicious" - something like that.

due to the lack of any clarifying comment of that nature leaves the reader guessing. The fact they mention suicide is ruled out indicates they had enough information to say it wasn't a suicide and as a reader you can conclude it was either natural causes (heart attack, etc.), murder, or you can add accident to the list.

I was going to also mention that the possibility of an accident although that is typically mentioned early on.
