28. New York Giants Last season: 6-11, missed playoffs Giants fans should keep Oct. 19 clear on their calendar. That’s when the Georgia Bulldogs will be playing the Texas Longhorns, and chances are at least fair the Giants’ next quarterback will be on the field. With Georgia’s Carson Beck, Texas’ Quinn Ewers and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, the 2025 quarterback draft class should have plenty of options. Of course, maybe Daniel Jones (and his $41 million, soon-to-be $58 million cap hit) will be the answer. His career 22-36-1 record and career 6.6 yards-per-attempt average, which ranks 39th in the NFL in the last five years, would suggest otherwise, though. |
If you mean figuring how close to first overall the Giants can get in order to select a QB - then you're right....
At least that's what it has felt like for me most the past decade.
Exactly. I'll be surprised if the Giants are the 4th worst team this year.

Wouldn’t 28 be the 5th worst team in the league?
28. NYG
29. ?
30. ?
31. ?
32. ?
With Joe Burrow at the helm, and Ja'Marr Chase and Tae Higgins. Seriously?
Atlanta Falcons will be doing well to be the 17th best team.
Unfortunately, until proven otherwise, that's exactly what this team is. A giant turd in the middle of a dumpster fire.

Worse than the Giants?
In no specific order.... at a minimum these:
Commanders
New England
Tennessee
Denver
Las Vegas
Minnesota
New Orleans
Seattle
Arizona
Carolina
And very possibly:
Seattle
Chicago
Chargers
Colts
Steelers
That's the list.
Will I be shocked if the Giants are actually good? No. Not shocked. But there's also a pretty good chance they continue to suck.

Could not disagree more. The only teams to me that are worse than the NYG are: Panthers, Pats, and Titans. I’m not too far off i believe as the only teams with worse SB odds, according to my sportsbook app, are Pats, Panthers, and Broncos. The NYG are tied for 4th longest odds with the Redskins (who get better division odds) and Titans.

By your logic we will start the season 1-9 with our first win coming against Carolina in week 10??? Ok, sure...

Wow. That’s a stretch. I will say though that, according to draftkings, looking at the week to week assumed point spreads, the best odds at wins for the NYG in the first 8 games are weeks 1 and 2. I believe I saw they will be a pick ‘em at home vs Minny and a 3 point dog in Washington. After that, I believe they are significant underdogs until mid season.

Unless they 2-0, which I think they will...
People posting that the Giants are a middle of the road team are posting their hopes, not reality.
People will stop doubting the Giants when they stop providing ample reason to doubt them. Right now - on paper - this is a well below average team. The hope is that this team makes real progress in 2024.
