Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Predator, The Running Man, Zulu, Zulu Dawn, The Wild Geese, Where Eagles Dare, Dirty Harry, Bataan, Back to Bataan, The Longest Day, The Dirty Dozen, The Devils Brigade, Sands of Iwo Jima, The Alamo
I mixed some war movies in there, but I consider those to be action movies, too.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (best of great franchise)
Aliens (best of great franchise)
Terminator (gotta go with the original although 2 is right there . . . gimme your clothes, yours boots and your motorcycle)
North by Northwest
80s: Die Hard, Predator, Raiders, Road Warrior
90s: T2, Point Break, Face/Off, The Rock
00s: Bourne, Dark Knight, Taken, Unstoppable
10s: Fast 5, Edge of Tomorrow, Wick, Equalizer
20s: Maverick, Nobody, Dead Reckoning, Ambulance
I definitely overlooked some classics. I could add 10 more Cruise movies to this easily. Not to mention the various Netflix stabs at action (Extraction, Triple Frontier, etc.).
I do enjoy Die Hard, but to me the 🐐 is Raiders of the Lost Ark.
McTiernan was on a roll (Predator, Die Hard, Hunt for Red October) - and then The Last Action Hero came along and basically destroyed his career. It's too bad the film wasn't closer to what the original writers had in mind.
RE: Gonna include an old School Hitchcock here . . .

Should end the thread, since it is the only action movie I know that actually features Mt. Rushmore...

Great Escape

The Outlaw Josey Wales
Raiders of the Lost Ark
If Jaws fits, Jaws
Just a fun tidbit - my dad met the real Virgil Hilts (the guy Steve McQueen played in The Great Escape). He said the movie was fairly accurate except that he did not have a ball or glove with him in the camp.
2.) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
3.) Terminator II
4.) Diehard
Really think James Bond should be in there, but there isn’t one movie specifically or one James Bond actor that I could choose above all the others. Lots of other movies can easily be in there but these are all iconic action movies in their own right.
is that the movie can be watched over and over again. Like you're scrolling through on a lazy Sunday afternoon and the movie happens to be on FX or TNT or whatever and boom, you know what you're doing for the couple of hours. And it doesn't matter that you gotta stop 45 min in because you gotta drive your kid somewhere. You know what happens the rest of movie scene for scene and can recite damn near every line by heart.
The Rock
Bad Boys II
Fury Road
John Wick
I decided to leave out strong choices like Aliens and Predator since I feel like they belong on the Mt Rushmore of Sci Fiction movies alongside Star Wars. I put Die Hard onto the Mt Rushmore of Christmas movies. Blackhawk Down and Saving Private Ryan I put onto the Mt Rushmore of War Movies.

- The Road Warrior
- Die Hard
- Hard Boiled
For those unfamiliar with asian cinema, Hard Boiled is a must watch if you are action aficionado.

Can’t leave that comment standing without submitting the Official Die Hard Christmas Movie Trailer.

Face off I think is very underrated
Anyone watch Taken 2?
If you like those kind of movies Mr Nobody is good. Monkey Man, released earlier this year, is also good.
