Cone and O'Neill talking about new grip and new confidence.
Because the Yankees prefer to give veterans who have failed at several MLB stops playing time over young players who could be developing. Cabrera starts two games in a row and goes 4-for-8 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs and, of course, he's sent back to the bench. He's hitting 100 points better against lefties than LeMahieu.

And why is a 25-year-old catcher not playing in a night game after a day game? He's played 4 games in a row after having four days off. Thursday is an off day. He can't play six games in a row? How many games in a row does 34-year-old Salvador Perez catch?
All will be ok once Stanton and Dominguez get back (and maybe even Rizzo). Figure Stanton needs like 3 weeks to get his swing down and we only have like 8 games with Dominguez. Cashman has to be aggressive with prime Cole, Judge, and Soto on the team.

No team is going to give us anything of value without asking for a king’s ransom.
Cashman sucks and his analytical department.
Boone and this analytics department need to get the fuck out of town.
When will this shit stop?
As I have said numerous times. The only way this stops is when you hurt Hal in the wallet. As long as fans are willing to pay big bucks for tickets and concessions why should Hal do anything different. He already has a payroll over 300 million. Cashman and this philosophy of this organization needs to change. Until fans speak up with there wallet it will not change.
for the first time, are willing to include No. 1 prospect Spencer Jones in a trade for White Sox ace Garrett Crochet or Tigers Cy Young candidate Tarik Skubal.
Would not surprise me, if true. Given that hitting is the Yankees shortcoming, why not trade a potential major league bat.
How can anyone be pissed? It's the absolute right move, especially the last one. Why waste 4 pitches and give your pitcher a chance to make a mistake. Just put him on.
I don't even know why Davis is on the team, let alone batting cleanup. The trade made no sense as it came days after calling up Rice. Davis has no business being on the roster of a contender. I'd rather live and die with some youngsters than continue to trot out veterans who we know absolutely suck and/or don't play hard.
The other one I don't get is calling up Vivas for 3 days and never playing him. I thought, this is it, they are benching DJLM or Torres. Nope. They ruin both their MLB roster and continue to ruin young players. I'm sure they will do the same with Jones. They will either refuse to trade him at all this year or next, but refuse to call him up and then unload when his value is in the toilet. Or, they will rashly trade him now for a crappy veteran who has a history of being mediocre at best. I don't buy these rumors about him for an ace type pitcher.

right Stanton will save them. LOL. In case anyone forgot they were 3-6 in his last 9 games. He's just what they don't need: a lumbering 1 dimensional player on scholarship for big $$. Can't hit, cant run, cant field. he crushes the occasional mistake. Then will pull a muscle walking back to the dugout from his latest strikeout.
Dominguez could be a real shot in the arm if he can just stay healthy.
Can’t wait to see his lineup tonight. Man with the magic touch.
I still can figure out his comment regarding Stanton needing to build up stamina?
Please can someone on this board explain to me that comment?
Does that mean that a 30 year old can’t swing a bat about 9 times a game or trot around the bases? What does that mean?

It will be the lineup card that the analytics nerds put out for him.

Spot on. Mgrs don't have the power tday that they had a generation ago.

have played for the last 6 weeks they're still in a playoff spot and well positioned to make the playoffs.
I think Aaron Boone is terrible at his job but he is doing exactly what his bosses are telling him to do.
The Yankees played so well through mid June that they still have the 2nd best run differential in MLB. Crazy right? Aaron Boone was the manger then too. He doesn't pick the players. He just writes out the lineup card and how much autonomy for that is debatable.
We know Hal's pretty much closed has checkbook at his "unsustainable" 300M threshold. Although I'm sure he understands how bad things have gotten since mid June. So maybe he's willing to consider things now he wouldn't have 6 weeks ago.
From a position player standpoint the Yankees have terrible to below average players playing everyday at C, 1B, 2B, 3B, LF. Verdugo is going to lose his spot to Dominguez if he ever gets healthy. I don't expect any personnel changes at 1B, 2B or C but I hope they can find an upgrade at 3B which has been a black hole.
The bullpen needs reinforcements at minimum maybe some of the rehabbing players will make it back and help since the most of the rumors about trades are for starting pitchers.
The 2021 trade deadline brought us Joey Gallo. The 2022 trade deadline brought us Frankie Montas. The Yankees sat the 2023 trade deadline unless you want to count Kenyan Middleton. Only 6 left before we find out about 2024.
The Yankees haven't a clue as to lineup construction.
Awful AB by Davis. Judge not likely to see a pitch to hit tonight.

Davis too, great move by Boone
Cmon DP and a K
Almost as bad is the runner on second not scoring.
Despite hitting Lindor and forcing in one, Gil pitched out of it
Let's go offense.
Time to get Judge hitting in front of Soto. If he wants to hit in front of the best hitter in the league he needs to commit to this franchise.
The JD Davis show is just fucking rolling along. Absolutely humming.

Six of one, half dozen of another.
You cannot have slackers batting 4th. I don't know why you put a lineup like this out there. They'd have been better off with Volpe batting 4th.

JD davis be batting behind judge???
DFA from Oakland and is now our #4

Lol pretty much going exactly as expected.
3-1
Time to leave.
Cashman needs to be fired into the fucking sun with his little puppet Fishman.
Time to leave.
Another DFA prospect
But they bat righty! (Fucking shoot me.)
I wondered that too. It may not have made a difference, but it may have. Odd.
Let's go!
Unreal.
Cmon DJ.
Volpe has been doing this as well.
It's especially obnoxious with Gleyber since he always hits better when he's going the other way. But he just refuses to do it.
And Volpe got on base to score a run with an opposite field single.
and loses more.
And Volpe got on base to score a run with an opposite field single.
This is true. I am speaking in general, but if this represents a change in approach, I am all for it.
When will this shit stop?
Team doesn’t hit
Boone trots out a dogshit lineup
And now this year our pen is trash. Everyone who comes in you have to
Hold your breathe for
No team is going to give us anything of value without asking for a king’s ransom.

Rizzo, who knows?
Because Hal isn't concerned with winning. Just the tickets sold and money spent on concessions & merchandise.
