Beginning with this game, the Mets are stepping up in weight class. Their next three opponents are the Prison Stripers, Barfs, & Twins. Click HERE to read a series preview of this season’s Yankee Stadium edition of the Subway Series. Enjoy 😊!

came up with for Puk?

Mets Receive:

A.J. Puk
Marlins Receive:

Dom Hamel (Mets No. 13 prospect via MLB Pipeline, No. 10 via BA)
Nick Morabito (Mets No. 25 prospect via MLB Pipeline, unranked via BA)

TRADE PROFILE: A.J. PUK, LHP | Posted by Mathias Altman-Kurosaki | Jul 24, 2024 | MMO.com

Puk's contract is awesome (click HERE for it). He just turned 29 and is only making 1.8 million this year. He won't be a FA until after the 2026 season. The Mets would be getting this giants southpaw for 2 and a third seasons. He's Pete's old buddy from the University of Florida too.
Sorry about the bad url link attempt above

thats the right value range - i like morabito and would prefer to give up someone upper minors, i wouldnt want to give up lower minors guys. dan would have a more educated opinion than me, but id view that return not so far off what marlins gave up for robertson last year, who i think is in a different category of reliever. i think it's the right range id just rather give up someone less interesting than morabito (like ramirez, who i think is ranked similarly in most rankings).
Too bad there ain't a mercy rule.
