with bruised ribs. Heck, some guys have played the next week with cracked ribs. I'd bet he's out for a week because it is camp. It depends on the depth of the bruise.
Because bruised ribs are unbelievably painful and can take some time to heal.
Yup. It was years and years ago, but when I had a bruised rib, the doc told me it was usually about the same amount of pain and same length of time for the pain to go away as if it had a break. Couldn't laugh, cough, sneeze, etc without feeling like I was getting stabbed or something.

With the Giants recent injury bad luck I expected the worst. There are 44 days until September 8th. Hopefully he's a full go in 30 days and has 2 weeks to get ready for game 1.
