Welcome to another series thread, this time against the hated Braves. Both teams would be in the playoffs if they started today. There’s even a realistic chance that they could play against each other in the Wildcard round, so this series carries a lot of weight. The Mets have a record of
3-3 against them so far this season. Kodai Senga will be making his season-debut in this series. The Mets completed their road trip against the Marlins & Yankees to start the post All-Star Break portion of the schedule with a record of 4-2. Click

Yeah, this is an odd decision. I felt that Houser was doing okay since the switch to the pen and he was certainly better than Ottavino. What do we need to do to get rid of Otto and his 4.91 ERA? What am I missing?
both make about the $, so i think they probably expect that neither will be claimed.
otto makes a lot of his own trouble and ideally he will be replaced bc you cant trust him to keep runners in close games but he has thrown the ball better than his results indicate. he has minimized contact against, his walk rate isnt terrible, and his k-rate is good.

Can’t think of a worse “expert” to discuss trade deadline e strategies. Unless there is a robust reliever market that he wants to discuss.

But he was running out of gas at around 70 pitches in his last 2 SYR starts.
Just give us a strong 5 innings Kodai. The bullpen will finish it up.

He has been their Ottavino of late
Yeah, Mets need multiple relievers. Not bad if they make another move or two in the pen.
and Morton pitch count just went over 50.
McNeil 102
Vientos 100
Jdms homer looked deceiving but it was out in 20/30 parks.
Don’t think he’s walking off with either of those. Strain is not good news either but hopefully not done for year. Did not look like a cramp so I think it’s at least a strain which is at least 2-4 weeks but more likely 4-8.
That's exactly what it looked like. Get Kodai-san some 'nanerz! STAT!
Phuq Houser. That dude was cheeks.
Yep likely shut down for a month. Super high rate of recurrence. Hopefully back in form mid sept.
His opt out is basically officially gone.

I’m no Houser apologist, but this would’ve been the spot for him. Hopefully this Orze kid settles down.

But not as cheeks as Uncle Otto. It’s been 18 years since that banana had a clean inning.

I posted about them both getting the DFA treatment yesterday. I still think it's gonna happen.

We’ll have to wait for more info, but likely a 3-8 week injury.

At least we get more control! (Gotta look on the bright side)
I don’t care if they are the best clubhouse guys in the world - they are horrible.

He messed up with the bullpen this off-season.
