Wonder how hard they are trying to move him. That ship probably sailed two years ago. I can't see many teams being interested in a guy with the amount of errors he makes.
I will say, pretty interesting that Jazz comes in and plays 3B for the first time in his career and says they can put me wherever they need me so I can help win a championship. Meanwhile Torres, who has been here for his whole career and has the most errors of any 2B in baseball since 2018, says he isn't moving positions.
because it gets thrown around a ton with athletes and we don't actually know them.
Gleyber seems mentally weak. The year he played SS--which he is capable of doing at a mediocre level--he let it affect his hitting. His contract walk year? He has a bad year hitting. All the dumb errors on plays he's physically capable of making. He refuses to focus his approach on hitting the ball the other way even though it's obviously better for him. I could go on, and I'm sure you guys could provide more examples.
The Astros are acquiring lefty reliever Caleb Ferguson from the Yankees for a prospect and international signing bonus space, reports Jack Curry of the YES Network
people are frustrated with Glebyer for not moving to third but I can understand why he didn't want to if he feels that it could lead to a repeat of the shortstop issues.
The Yankees have done well in moves before the trade deadline. Let's

You'd think Yankees fans would be used to cheering on the incumbent who refuses to change positions when a superior player at his position arrives via trade.

Yet Chisholm is the one with attitude issues?
There's a difference between attitude and general mental issues. I mean if we're not calling Chuck Knoblauch and Steve Saks throwing yips attitude issues then I don't think Torres deserves that tag either.
2 hours before the trade deadline. I could easily be wrong but this sounds like an injury they're hiding till they can make a trade for a SP like Flaherty without the price skyrocketing.

Gerrit Cole: “I would sum it up as, it’s still early for me. I’m six starts in and I’ve just hit my max capacity of pitches three times in a row. So it’s early.”
So is there anything left of significance for Cashman? Maybe a “holy shit, didn’t see that coming!” sort of deal? If it’s just Jazz and Leiter, that’s a bit underwhelming, to say the least.

Diaz, Fairbanks, Flaherty, Rengifo are the big names linked to the Yanks who haven't moved
They are pretty unanimously underwhelmed by what the O's did. Eloy is a cooked DH only, Richards was an overpay. Would have liked to see Cash do some more with the pen but Scott was an insane overpay by SD and seems like Finnegan and Fairbanks weren't moved.
Soto’s future probably contributed to the quiet deadline.

Where's an old school manager when you need one. Son, you can either get your glove and go to 3B or pack your bags and GTF outta here.
RE: RE: This deadline kind of confirms that Cashman
On a minor league deal to try to convert him to a pitcher
Doesn't move the needle.

Some teams inquiring about OF Alex Verdugo, per sources.
Another source doesn't rule out that he could be part of a trade before the deadline.

Uh-oh, you're throwing up the kmed signal

Gerrit Cole has been scratched from tonight's game due to general body fatigue. Will Warren will start.
Yet Chisholm is the one with attitude issues?
WTF? What does that even mean?

Trade him. We need a spot for Dominguez when he’s ready.

No sign of anyone being dealt.
People are saying the Padres hugely overpaid. I'm fine with not overpaying.

"general fatigue"?
WTF? What does that even mean?
I think it means he is tired of getting lit up

In that case I have general fatigue too.
Hope it passes quickly.
Dodgers got Flaherty…
Whose fault is that?
Nope. Embarrassing TDL for him unless there's a surprise deal that hasn't been announced
The Tigers receive C Thayron Liranzo and IF Trey Sweeney. Ouch.

Doesn’t think this team is only one or two major moves away from contending, despite their performance over the beginning of the season.
Whose fault is that?
You’ll get no argument from me on that, Cashman and Boone should both be fired.
