GBN Draft Report: Initial Top 50+ 2025 Big Board

M.S. : 7/31/2024 11:12 am

According to GBN Draft Report:

(1) "...the very top of the board is pretty talented; maybe almost as good as last years."
(2) "...whereas the top prospects last year were pretty much established...by this time of the year, there’s still much sorting out to do with the 2025 class."
(3) "...while the 2024 draft was heavy – very heavy – on offensive talent, the upcoming crop has more of a defensive tinge..."

Here is the Top 10:
1. Carson Beck QB
2. Luther Burden WR
3. Tetairoa McMillan WR
4. James Pearce DE
5. Shedeur Sanders QB
6. Will Campbell OT
7. Will Johnson CB
8. Kelvin Banks G/T
9. Travis Hunter CB
10. Mykel Williams DE

As far as the Giants go, my guess is their draft position depends on how their ever-evolving offensive line performs. If Carmen Bricillo can hold this thing together, I think the Giants will be drafting outside of the Top 10, which is OK if they could land someone like DT Mason Graham out of Michigan and place him next to Dexter Lawrence where they can chew on red meat all day long. And if things fall apart on Carmen Bricillo, the Giants should be in striking distance of a very fine QB prospect.

McMillan and Hunter

Should be higher. McMillan I think is better than any WR in the 2024 draft. He’s THAT special.
I never saw so much trust (or hope) in a new position coach.

The Giants aren’t asking Carm to develop anyone - just to reproduce what he did in Vegas with his same players and some veteran additions. Except for Thomas and JMS, he needs to recreate the Raiders line with veterans who he doesn’t have to develop - just get them to play together.

What’s your bet: Will he succeed… or not?

Will no doubt if stays healthy will be in top 10
He’s second coming of Dex
Beck #1?

JFC.

Well, to each their own.

Yes, it's early but I would say Pearce, Hunter and Banks should be the pre-season best prospects for the top rung.
And I'm going to go out on a limb...

and say Milroe will be the top QB if he produces like I think he will.
Negative on Milroe
BigBlueCane : 7/31/2024 6:23 pm : link
Its Beck, the winner of the OSU QB comp, Ward and Ewers.

3. Sanders
4. Dart
5. Ward

Well, considering how I fear this season is going to go, we might as well start looking @ the top of the draft board.

Do you think NYG will draft Howard Cross III next year?
Ewers is going to have another big year
PatersonPlank : 7/31/2024 8:34 pm : link
he will be near the top
Have been watching Bama football this summer

and I don't know how good of a quarterback Milroe is but I am fascinated by his running. The announcers say that he runs fast and he does run by defenders with ease but I think it's more of him just covering so much ground in so little time, in 2 or 3 steps he walks around a linebacker responsible for the edge or a safety who's responsible for spying the QB. It's really weird to watch.

More of a defensive tinge. 30 of the top 50 are offensive players.

I gotta say, I watched about 90 seconds of highlights, good lord he can play. 6'4" with those hands and natural bend and catching ability? Unreal.

I’ll let Colin speak for himself. My guess is that something like 14 out of the top 15 picks in 2024 Draft we’re on offense whereas this 2025 prospect list is roughly 50/50 for top 15.
