Also not a fan of them only dropping 5 episodes at a time (15 total in 3 weeks increments for the series finale). I’ll finish it out because I’m curious how they end it (my money is on a showdown between Johnny and Kreese) but if it hasn’t jumped the shark already, the engine is revving).

seeing Daniel & Johnny as adults.

I appreciate Daniel's absolute devotion to Miaggi and all his teachings, but there are times when even I get sick of him and his sanctimony.

Then there is the brawl in the school where a student falls from a balcony and breaks his back. Another student has his arm broken by the "Hawkman". Yet, there are no police investigations, no interactions by parents saying to stay away from these dojos and finally no common sense by any parenting/school administration body to limit the bloodshed.

Finally, there is another all out brawl at the LaRusso house where murder is on everyone's minds; especially the Cobra Kai Blonde who wants to dismember LaRusso's daughter.

Again, children are bloodied, bones broken, etc. and noone in authority says enough is enough. These kids continue to just wander through town ready to brawl, ready to bully, ready to be physically beaten at a moment's notice.

You are right. It jumped the shark in a major way and watching it now is clearly just a curiosity as to how it ends.

It is clear that Mr. Miaggi was the cork holding the craziness back in the "Valley".

In the first 2 seasons, but it’s gotten worse over the last 3 seasons. The kids on the show all look like adults now and it doesn’t have the same charm.

Netflix prides themselves on binging so they want to keep that model. I read that Netflix said you can't binge 15 episodes in a row so they are helping out the viewer. Give me a fuckin break. They are trying to have their cake and eat it too. They obviously broke it up because they don't want people canceling after they binged all 15 episodes. So, what is it? Are you into binging or not? You can't have it both ways and then tell your customers you are doing it for their benefit. It is insulting. Be honest.

And why are they in the woods all the time? I get it that Martin Kove is like 80 years old, but they need to go easy on the makeup. His face looks like it's about to fall off. Also, Johnny vs. Barnes should have been a bigger deal. Instead, they fought and it was forgotten 5 mins later.

having the characters say the name of the tournament every few mins was just weird. It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

same. But the writers seem to have run out of ideas and some of their choices just aren't landing. Chozen should be a badass but they turned him into a clown.

You can still do it just not at launch. I don’t have a problem with it. The reasoning, however dumb it may be, doest really change anything. If you want to watch all 15 then just wait the extra 2 weeks and pretend it doesn’t come out until then.

Johnny Lawrence is a moron and not a functional or fully formed human being. His living independently makes no sense. Nothing makes any sense. Who pays for all these kids to go to Barcelona? Where are their parents? Why did kriese escape prison only to fly overseas(?) to some jungle dojo where they also have insane students? Why is winning karate tournaments so important to these people?

At least it is more PG now, early on, it reminded me of the Walking Dead, so incredibly simplistic in its writing that only children wouldn't question the plot holes, but TWD added gore and cobra Kai added blowjob humor.

It is incredibly cringey and yet you can refer back to my first sentence where it says that we watch it.

a miracle. This had sharknado vibes all over it, people are suckers for nostalgia

laughing at and rolling our eyes at. After the first season, we realized that this was going to be a "let's see how this show ends" rather than "this show is awesome" kind of a show, and we're ok with it.

Having said that, one of the funniest deleted scenes is Johnny's interaction with a BJJ dojo. Being a BJJ practitioner with all of my kids doing it, it made me chuckle since there is a bit of a looking down the nose by BJJ folks at the more traditional martial arts.

Meh. It's like Entourage. It can never really get bad because it is what it is. They're not trying to make the Godfather or French Connection here. It is what it is, a fun goofy show with fake fight scenes and fun goofy characters. Good nostalgia from the 80's. My son says he thinks Hilary Swank is making an appearance sometime this season. She's the last remaining main character from the movie series we haven't seen yet.

I've given up hope on Dutch ever appearing. They've mentioned him a couple of times which may have been their way of acknowledging him.

I don’t agree, Entourage was downright awful at the end. It did try to be the godfather in the beginning either but it was good then so this doesn’t compute.

Yep. In the show she's Daniel's wife's cousin who set them up at some point

This was my big fear with this show, that they'd keep making seasons, milking it and ruin it. I really thought they should of ended it last season.

If it wasn't jumped before episode 5, that shark is done now. Creese just travels in and out of the country with no issue after escaping prison and then shows at a supposed big international tournament in an EU country? Yeah, OK.

And the fights for captains were terrible. Why the Hell would the medical center be calling Larusso's wife?
