No one else believes it. The recently-released Madden Ratings don’t even have him among the top 32 quarterbacks in the NFL. Daniel Jones of the New York Giants, though, “absolutely” believes he is one of the league’s top quarterbacks. That’s what Jones told Tyler Dunne of the fantastic subscription site, Go Long, during a 1-on-1 sit down this week at Giants training camp. “I’ve done it, and I’ve played at a really high level and I understand I need to play consistently at that level, but I think we got the guys and we’ve got the makeup of the team for us all to play at a really high level, including me,” Jones told Dunne. “I know I can.” |
Now I know some hope he bombs and the Giants don't do well as I have read on her.
Now I know some hope he bombs and the Giants don't do well as I have read on her.
Get off with this shit about fans hoping he 'bombs'. This is such a ludicrous statement. 99.99999999% of Giant fans want him to succeed because, as you stated, if he has a good year, the Giants likely have a good year.
I'm one of his biggest critics, but I'll gladly eat crow if he lights it up this fall.
High school?
I think that still remains to be seen. We all thought there would an improved Neal at RT with Eluemunor at Guard. JMS has missed most of camp and now he’s injured. We may not have even a sub par swing tackle so, I’m not so sure this line will be noticeable better.
DJ, in his best year, with 5 seasons under his belt, hasn't approached those offensive numbers, not even close. His best year he accounted for about 3900 total yards passing and rushing with 22 TDs combined. Sometimes I just can't.

That’s bullshit. I can think of at least 5 posters who hope he shits the bed every game and NYG lose as many games as possible. They hate him that much.

Let's say that's true. Why do you think those five posters hate Jones? His personality is as inoffensive as they come, so why do you think those five posters hate him?
Could it be because they want to see the Giants win games, and Jones's level of play correlates well to losing?
You might not care about the results in the field, but some of us actually like it when the Giants win.
Be nice if that happened again.
Just keep it interesting.
Your side of this argument never seems willing to follow logical consistency.
Bringing up another example of something that DID happen is NEVER an argument to suggest that another instance did NOT happen.
It's an argument to point out that BOTH instances happened, and provide context therein.
Let me know if you need help with any of those words.

Because the posters are obsessed of being proven right rather than admit they are wrong.
Or they threaten to leave the site for good and come back to gloat.

In your mind, these posters that you speak of what were they wrong about, exactly?

They came back to the site to gloat about being wrong?
Explain that one JT039.
Love also didn't have a WR1, no TE1, no RB1, RBBC, a revamped OL, and the pressure of following a legend.
They came back to the site to gloat about being wrong?

Ummm it’s pretty simple. Terps said he was leaving the site for good but came back after jones sucked against Seattle to gloat and has been a stain since.
There’s absolutely no doubt he rather see Jones suck than him winning the SB MVP.

Slight correction - I'd rather the Giants finally admit that Jones sucks instead of wasting time wishing for something impossible to happen.
You brought a lot to this thread.
Mara is racist
Blah blah blah blah. Same shit, different day.

Nygiantfan
I was referring to this post because speedy is absolutely correct. Posters want Jones to suck so they can admit they are right rather than be wrong.
Terps has openly admitted he rather see the giants lose every game than see Jones make the playoffs.
Now if I'm right, I give myself a high five for being logical. I've reviewed the evidence and made a reasoned guess on what will happen.
If I'm wrong, I get to enjoy the Giants winning the same as anyone. And I don't even have to embarrass myself afterwards and start a thread along the line of that "I'm happier Go Terps was wrong than I am the Giants won."
You guys should all come to my side. You win no matter what.
Five years is a lot of data, even when you adjust for the missed time with injuries.
I have said it before - I'm just sick of watching Jones try to play QB in the NFL. It's exhausting.
Jones is one of the luckiest players in NFL history with the patience and money an NFL organization has paid for him.
Yes. I don’t get how some posters can’t compute this. It isn’t trigonometry (which I sucked at).
Posters have literally said that they hoped that Jones sucked word for words so you’re wrong.

and don't care to witness it any longer for the team they follow. It's not an unreasonable view.

Even if so, you aren't following what I wrote.
And I am telling you that there are some that do. Case close.
You have to be very specific with your wording because the Receipts Rabble will be prepared to pounce...
And I am telling you that there are some that do. Case close.
And DJ says he's one of the best NFL QBs. So maybe you shouldn't believe everything you read.
1) Best outcome Jones has a strong season
2) 2nd best he bombs
3) 3rd best he lingers on at sub-mediocrity

When it comes to your posting, trust me I don’t.
1) Best outcome Jones has a strong season
2) 2nd best he bombs
3) 3rd best he lingers on at sub-mediocrity
Now rank those scenarios in order of likelihood of occurrence.

Yup, unfortunately it's the inverse.

You forgot one..
4) Jones has a strong season and leads us to playoffs. Bombs in 2025… haha

3, 2, 1.
3 is a nightmare scenario, as that’s all they’ll need to justify bringing him back for a seventh fucking year.

The stores in the NY metro area would run out of Kleenex.
If he plays like he usually does, that was enough to get him $40M per year because our owner has a crush on him. It will be enough to keep him in his bizarrely secure position in 25 and possibly renegotiate, which will allow him to keep sucking the life out of the franchise through 27.
If he sucks, we have a chance to unshackle ourselves.
Hurts sure didn't look very good before Brown and Smith got there (even though he still had an OL). Now everyone's thinking all those squats he did made him MVP calibre.

Yeah but they can't be trusted to read receipts properly.

But it appears very likely that Hurts is just better overall at playing QB than Jones is.

No kidding. The amount of incorrect claims I've had attributed to me by these mouth breathers...I can only imagine to other posters as well.
Are you seriously going to say you never once said you rather Jones suck than the giants be good and make the playoffs? Really?

The 3rd scenario: He's more productive now that he doesn't have a cast of JAGs as his supporting cast.

Did you watch him before Smith & Brown got there? He was God awful.
Either way, just pointing out there are 3 scenarios that could happen. The poster only mentioned 2 in his “analysis”.
What year was he God awful?

Don't ever change, man. This was a beauty and gave me a great laugh... ;)
