NFT: Chicago White Sox - 19 Losses in a row

DC Gmen Fan : 8/4/2024 8:38 am
Law of averages would have them winning one game here and there. what’s going on out there? Is this intentional, are they trotting out single A ballplayers? This has to be approaching the record, right?
I'm waiting for a Martingale bettor

That's right.

Reinsdorf is one of the worst owners in sports.

The record is 23 in a row. Phillies 1961. Hope they don't break it, Philly deserves that record. AL record is 21 games, Baltimore 1988.
They could break the expansion ’62 Mets’ record of 120 losses.

That’s inexcusable in today’s MLB. They’re in a big market, too. This has to be troubling the other owners and the league. It’s bad for the sport.

Even a team doing a full-on rebuild should “only” lose about 110 games.

Even the homeless A’s are more competitive.
Make that 20 in a row
Ron from Ninerland : 8/5/2024 2:59 am : link
and their next game is against the homeless A's
and I do believe, unless things have changed,

that the highest draft pick they can get is #10. But I am not totally sure about that.
Will they break 5000 attendance at the Oakland Coliseum ?
Ron from Ninerland : 8/6/2024 3:48 pm : link
4900 hearty souls braved the cold weather and risked bodily harm walking the unlit pedestrian bridge from BART to the coliseum to watch the white sox tie the AL record for futility.

How many will go tonight to possibly see history be made ? As someone who lives here will I take advantage of that unique privilege ? Is the west side club still there after the Raiders moved out so I at least won't need to freeze my ass off ?

Nah. I'll probably just set my VPN and watch the game on MLB.com
I think they are going to break the Mets record
moespree : 8/6/2024 3:57 pm : link
47 games left. They have to do better than 14-33 to not break the record.

I really see no reason to think they can win 15 more games at this point.

Baltimore's was special because it was a 21 game losing streak to start the season. They were 0-21.
