From what I've seen on here and seen on Twitter it sure seems like the Giants outperformed the Lions. Can anybody confirm that?
I know it's just practice and we aren't seeing every play, but DJ seems like he isn't thinking as much this summer as he has in years past. Just dropping back and letting it rip. Also Nabers, Hyatt & Wan'Dale have looked really good.
Look at those 3 WRs and look at who we started the year off with last year at WR. We had Hodgins, Slayton, Parris Campbell & Sterling Shepard.
The three big negatives were two blown coverages, and almost pick 6. Everything else seems mostly positive.

Sounded pretty even to me, Giants did well but blew some coverages leading to big plays.
that as long as Jones plays even average, this team will be decent. Today did nothing to dissuade me from that notion. Secondary remains the biggest concern.
This team is underrated. Maybe they should be and there are big questions but it’s far better talent than most expect.
Worst roster in the league, I’ve been told.
I heard some ex-GM on a podcast the other day saying don't sleep on the Giants cause there's a ton of talent in that locker room. Hadn't heard that before......maybe they'll soon put that narrative to bed.

Best atmosphere for a Giants practice since I started covering the team in 2013. High intensity. Scrums all over the place. Endless live drills. Coaches + sidelines seemed to embrace it.
Michael Strahan, Tom Coughlin, Chris Canty, Victor Cruz, Shaun O’Hara + more on the sideline taking it in.

There is…not sure many teams have added 2 better players than Nabers and Burns this off-season…
Throughout the entire roster, there is a lot of new blood and these guys are bringing some edge. 5, possibly 6 new starters on offense if Theo ends up replacing Belli. Plus Tracy will have a big role it appears as RB2.
The defense was already solid last year, and they add Burns who is a force multiplier on that DL. Also liking what I’ve seen from Phillips at nickel, Johnson at ILB, and Banks/Thibs both should be even better this year. The only notable loss was X, but Nubin should help mitigate that as I think he’s going to be a good player.

. Maybe. We can all hope, right?
RE: RE: RE: RE: Why the hell is the QB running into a fight scrum
But it looked like a relatively clean pocket for Jones.....would love confirmation.
There were some reports that our OL held it’s own.
At least now we have players who are experienced and have at least played average in their respective positions. We aren't relying on rookies, etc. Plus hopefully the new OL Coach will make a difference

My joint-practice observations
#Lions O
- Jameson Williams speed is smooth & unassuming. Really surprises defenders
- Daurice Fountain had a solid day catching the ball
- Gibbs noticeably looks thicker in a good way
- No Sam Laporta today, as noted pre practice by Dan Campbell

It helps when you have a receiver who is always open. That makes decisions a lot easier.
Flott is a backup, McCloud is decent but an upgrade would be nice.
With a few good options available, why not sign one to a 1 year contract.
As Eric said yesterday, this is a developing team. You don’t develop your talent by putting young players on the bench for stopgap vets. Flott has upside and may get pushed by McCloud. That’s what you want at this point.

Great practice. Physical. High intensity.
More importantly: I thought the Giants hung well with Dan Campbell’s Lions.

Burns is especially important since the second CB spot is a weak spot.
