Yeah he threw one pick. Besides that he gunslinged it to Tristan Jackson deep for a TD and another deep pass to Trent Sheffield Sr. BTW, the video link caught Justin Jefferson jawing out loud how delighted he was to see the TDs. McCarthy led the team back from a deficit to a win 24-21 -- Not to shabby even if against backup/ reserves.
I could only imagine how his presence on the Giants would help Hyatt, Slayton and Robinson.
Anyway, we will see. I will be following the Vikings to see how he develops.

Yep, he was 29 for 34 for a little over 360 yards and 2 TDs, with no INTs. I think he played seven, maybe eight, series. McCarthy played six series yesterday and was 11-17 for 177 with 2 TDs and 1 INT.
100% meaningless
Jones vs Manning preseason - ( New Window )
So, watching JJM offers a glimpse of possibilities of a QB that a lot of fans did not want the Giants to draft. I would suggest all the "learned" fans consider the opportunity cost of not drafting a QB this past draft and next year the need arises again. And I am not stuck any particular top 2 or 3 candidates.
I remain convinced that Jones is not the answer.

I do t think Jones is the answer either but JJ looking good in 1 pre season game means dick.
DeVito beat two of the bad teams. Jones beat the one bad team he faced and I think had to play two 12 win and two 11 win teams. The Giants invested a lot in him and he worked hard for the team and he just didn't deserve for it to end so on that note.
I would be fine if they had a QB sitting on the bench that the believed could be the right one, ready to take over mid-season if Jones doesn't play well or is hurt.
But he also wasn't that good. That INT vs. the 'Hawks that practically ended the season...that wasn't on anyone but Jones.
It's possible to be of the belief that while Jones was given chicken shit last year, he didn't turn it into chicken salad. And when he's making the coin he is, there's an expectation that he should elevate the team. I'm just so sick of the excuses for him...that he needs this and that. Hey, he was drafted sixth overall. He got a huge contract. Maybe-just maybe-the buck should stop with him?
From all indications, it looks-knock on wood-he's going to have a competent OL this fall. The WR corp looks good with Malik, Slayton, Hyatt, & Robinson. I feel good that we got backs that can replace Saquon's production.
No more fucking excuses for Jones. None.
