The #Giants initial belief is that rookie WR Malik Nabers has a minor ankle sprain. Obviously more testing to come after rookie finished practice early and limped off field.

Hearing Giants are hopeful that Malik Nabers is OK and appears to have avoided serious injury to his left foot, per sources. Will likely undergo tests to further determine severity and confirm. But as of now, concern level seems low - high because of who the player is, but low in terms of what it is believed to be.
@art_stapleton
Dr. Stapleton is diagnosing a bruise for Malik Nabers, not necessarily a sprain of his left foot. Looked like he got stepped on by a teammate and everything I’ve heard to this point seems to confirm that.
Nabers was rubbing top of his foot when he went off the field. If it were his ankle, that does not seem to match up with him using the band on the sideline to flex his foot.

Obviously a positive initial report. But can't fully exhale until he undergoes further examination

#Giants initially believe it's a minor ankle sprain for Malik Nabers. It is standard for more tests to be done in a situation like this.

There is a belief it’s a minor ankle sprain for Malik Nabers.

Damn, with a guy as valuable as Nabers, how does this staff let anyone else wear cleats during practice???

Don’t even. It’s justified but don’t even.
Wtf. Please don't say things like that

Yeah, seriously, what the fuck was Ronnie Barnes doing on the sideline with a medical band stretching his foot. Jeez Louise this staff...

Homie just doing cardio out there 😭
I'd laugh, but there's a distinct possibility that's what the Papas & Banks' of the world are shoveling down our throat next offseason.
put that dude in the bathroom like Eddie Mush and Frankie Coffee Cakes.

Let's hope his foot wasn't stepped on the way Hakeem Nicks' foot was stepped on.
Excellent. Thanks for this.
Why would you play him Saturday??

give him a couple days off, then ramp him up later in the week and see if he can play Saturday.
Why would you play him Saturday??
I would certainly take a pass on Saturday.

Why would you play him Saturday??
Maybe to get him live game reps with Jones?
The kid is a gamer and as long as his foot checks out healthy I’d bet he pushes to play like he did the last game and I’d bet they play him.

Ortho doc would also be checking if it was an ankle injury to be sure there is no fracture or ligament damage. Orthos also deal with nerve, muscle and tendon damage.

If they're going to give Jones game reps (and I assume they are), and if the plan is to limit the starter reps in the Jets game, then Saturday is the team's last, best chance to put Jones and Nabers on the field together for real action.
Now, if Nabors is still sore come Saturday, then yeah, you hold him out.

It’s ok. As long as he runs routes beyond 10 yards he will be completely out of harms way.

Okay, that makes sense. But unless he’s 100%, I would sit him. It’d be stupid IMO to put him on the field if he isn’t only for him to re-aggravate the injury.

Because he's a rookie we are counting on. If DJ plays you want to play Nabers if he's healthy. Let me ask you, why wouldn't you?
Was he asked about the injury? What did he say? Could our great beats have not asked the question concerning the condition of the best player on the team.

I'm not sure you understand how this work. He was not made available to the beat writers.

Couldn't Adams have asked?
Ronnie Barnes sucks at his job. No implication needed. In fact, he’s probably the single worst athletic trainer in the entire league measured by the only thing that matters: playing time.
