Update on Malik Nabers, per source: Still viewed as a mild ankle sprain, as was the initial belief. Sounds like he’s day-to-day.
Brian Daboll said Malik Nabers is sore today. They’ll back him off today and take it day to day. “I think he’s OK.” Daboll doesn’t think it’s a fracture.
Huh? How don’t you think it’s a fracture? It is or it isn’t? And what happened to just a sprain? Where did fracture come from.

Some fractures are very difficult to see on an x-ray and even a CT and MRI. While he might have had x-rays it's unlikely he'd have the scans unless there was a concern.
The fracture mention probably came up because a reporter asked if that was possible. Or Daboll was simply saying that to reinforce that there was no concern at this time.

Is it really so hard to understand? The team's examination yesterday revealed no fracture; the non-medical accounts said it seemed pretty minor. As always, doctors will do a follow-up to be sure, which wouldn't be complete by 9AM the next day.

They’ll do individuals again today (in pads). See how they do. Then decide if they’re going to do more tomorrow (another padded practice). #Giants

Daniel Jones with a very efficient start to practice. He & Daboll high-five at end of six-play drill. Maybe the best series of passes I’ve seen from Jones in camp.
He went 5 of 6. Highlight a long TD to Jalin Hyatt. Only miss a slight overthrow to Tracy, but that was more good coverage. Impressive. #Giants

He has David Carr syndrome which is too bad. On the few occasions that he had a clean pocket he had a tendency to escape when there was no need to do anything except step up.
He cleaned up his fumbling issue but I feel that his pocket presence has declined. Somewhat understandably.

So his best move, then, would be to find a way to escape the Giants by any means necessary and get to a team that allows, say...30-40 sacks per year instead of 90? Seems this would be a good career move. OR....just fix the damn OL!

It makes perfect sense. Without the threat of pressure Jones is a very accurate quarterback, especially deep.
The question becomes whether 1) the Giants pass pro can provide that type of protection or 2) can Jones develop the ability to make those types of throws under pressure.
both pass protect and run the ball better. In three of the games Jones started last season the RB production was 9c/22y, 18c/39y and 22c'46y. Hard for a QB to produce with that kind of support with the predictability and poor D/D situations.
BD has made a better effort to develop the run game thus far in camp. It was poor last season overall and dreadful at times.

On Sirius XM NFL channel the other day, Rich Gannon was saying his teams would shoot for a yearly sack number in the upper 20's when he played. He then said the Giants gave up 85 sacks, which he thought was just incredible. He also said DJ was pressured on 41% of his passes, which he also thinks is ridiculous.
