Nabers with a drop on a deep ball from Daniel. Had to turn around to get it but had to be caught
But I'd expect Aaron Rodgers to pick most secondaries apart in practice. And ours isn't as good as most, for now anyway.
Even if the DBs all turn out all pros, they're going to need time to develop and time to gel. The front 7 and the offense are going to need to cover for them for a while.
Like I keep saying this is just cardio 7 on 7s, means nothing, especially when trying to cover an ALL PRO with another ALL PRO throwing him the ball.

Well of course, a hall of fame QB is whipping our Secondary as opposed to a QB that should not belong in the league as a starter everyday in practice.

- 6 targets

- 1 drop (potential TD)
The #Giants rookie caught just one pass when matched up on #Jets CB Sauce Gardner, that I saw. It came in 7-on-7 drills. Went against DJ Reed more often.
We don’t have access to all-22 practice film to watch each rep individually.
Seems to be highly overrated on this board. The Jets have a solid secondary with two good corners. Hyatt is a work in progress at this point. It may click in for him, but he’s not there yet.
It isn't just talent but a whole defense still learning. The Jets are a would-be playoff team. Not sure what folks expected especially with Rodgers who can't be touched.

That's exactly right. He's not at all polished out there, and not reliable like Slayton. With Nabers green as can be, Hyatt will need to prove he's dependable before he's on the field with Nabers much. Daboll will want to limit the number of rooks on the field at once for a while.

I am not assessing any of our skill players as long as the worst of them is throwing the ball.
Which is exactly why you would like to see something. Right now you have to assume Slayton is ahead of him, but you'd like to see that change.
I just think we need to limit our expectations on him for this season. We all want him to be the receiver he was at Tennessee, but he still has a ton of work to do at this level.

I had #Giants QB Daniel Jones 12 of 18 passing today against the #Jets defense. He threw a TD & ran one in, both during red zone period. He took two sacks (Kinlaw/Williams, Jermaine Johnson/McDonald).
Jones & offense went 4 & out in their move-the-ball, 2-minute period.
Should be noted: Only two of Jones’ 12 completions were beyond 8-10 yards. Everything else short. Would have had a TD to Nabers (slight under throw), but it was dropped.
I’d sum up #NYG offensive by saying it was woefully uneventful. They didn’t take chances, weren’t aggressive.

I am blown away at the obtuseness of these comments. How can you evaluate a deep threat if the ball cannot travel the projectory to exploit say threat. And you are mad at Hyatt?

Cant target guys who aren't open and get no separation. Hyatt isnt a physical WR, right now he has 2 routes, a Go and Post. He cant even work underneath because he cant figure out spacing, he had the issue last year and he had it vs the Lions.
Holy crap we are getting old... that is crazy!

Whether it’s a FA like Witherspoon, or a trade for a guy like Newsome, Farley, Elam, Lattimore, or Okudah.
