How the Giants handle their coverages on the back end of the defense will be key in situations like yesterday when they get carved up by Aaron Rodgers and an elite receiver in Garrett Wilson.
They have work to do and things to still figure out.
But if you pay attention to reports at Jets camp, Rodgers and Wilson do this every day in practice. Well, except for Monday.
And the Jets have an elite secondary.
A lot of teaching tape for Giants yesterday for the pass defense.
too much of yesterday overall, the Giants are juggling a lot of pieces, missing pieces and moving parts as we head into the last pre-season game. if anything, yesterday was a scouting session for us on possible roster additions.

Things I saw that I liked from the Giants and what they did yesterday:
The backs not only ran hard, they ran smart. And Tyrone Tracy is officially back from the dead, so to speak.
John Michael Schmitz held up pretty well on the interior, and the Giants had the edges protected well, too.
Second team: Evan Neal faded into the background, meaning his snaps at RT were solid and encouraging.
Wan'Dale Robinson is tough, man. So is Eric Gray.
But Wan'Dale reminds me of Rod Tidwell. He takes a beating.
Show me the money!

The #Jets will not play Aaron Rodgers or any key starters in Saturday’s preseason finale vs. the Giants.
So, officially, Aaron Rodgers will make his return to the field in Week 1 on Monday Night Football against the 49ers—nearly a full year since rupturing his Achilles.
will be like what they have done so far in the Pre-season. That means no Rodgers and most of the other starters.
The Giants should follow suit. Nothing to be gained by playing our starters vs their backups-especially with some injuries and potential injuries. Link - ( New Window )

Disagree, the QB and CBs need the work. Dont care if its against 2/3's and only for 2 series, but they need reps.

I disagree. 1st team needs work especially the oline and Jones. They cannot eff around. Even if only a few series.

Well, I am staying with my opinion. NOTHING gained playing guys who are 2nd or 3rd teamers. The Oline is fine, full of VETS who have shown they work well together already even with sporadic use. Jones playing doesn't change anyone's narrative and won't give him anything but "confidence" and if you need that we are screwed.
The secondary is already full of backups, no need playing Banks, Pinnock and our LB'ers are already playing mostly backups inside..
We would get more from practicing ourselves than we will playing the Jets- but our backups need to play a LOT. I would like to see Lock play the whole first half and devito the whole second half..
Players who NEED to play:
Evan Neal
Jake Kubas
Matt Nelson (could be late round trade worthy to a team in need)
Allen Robinson
Bryce Ford-Wheaton
John Jiles
Ayir Asante
need as much work as they can handle, but it would be nice to see all the OL starters get some work together. Big game for Kubas, too. He's been pretty up and down and is likely on the bubble.

Phil Simms disagrees. On his podcast yesterday he talked about how important confidence is to a QB (no he wasn't talking about Jones but Tua).
Number is probably coming from Bryce Ford-Wheaton.
He says he wants an even single number. That leaves 2, 4, 6,and 8. 4 is retired, 8 is Jones, 2 is Lock. So that leaves 6. He probably going to claim it once Bryce Ford-Wheaton is cut.

Feel confident after watching practice that the Giants are not going to play their starters on Saturday in their final preseason game against the Jets.
The Jets have already announced they’re not playing their starters.
RE: ... opportunity to wear 8 again sooner rather than later.
Hopefully he's ready for Week 1. I feel like he will start beside Bobby O really soon.
The big question is, will he and or McFadden be ready. If both are not we will most likely need an ILB who is not currently on the roster.
Muasau hasn't looked "good" but he also isn't completely lost out there. I feel like he's an adequate fill in for Mcfadden in the run game. Not ideal but I don't anticipate them adding a body ahead of him on the depth chart.

How dare you abandon us in this critical time!
Have a safe trip.
Maybe kidnap Carson Beck while you're down there and bring him back here

Congrats.
We will have to do something the week of the Army vs Navy game.
Congrats Eric. I'm sure you're be proud of him, as you should be.

Excellent news. He looked like Patrick Willis in that 1st preseason game.
Apparently he wants a single digit, but 88 would be cool for many reasons.
Nabers has the potential to reach or even exceed Hakeem Nicks’ impact.
