Well as we all know the Giants will likely be in the market for a QB in the draft. It would be fun to track these guys as the college season progresses.
While I doubt Sanders will be a guy they will be interested in due to all that comes with him, the Buffs are in action tonight. Sanders’ stats are off to a fast start but his 41 TD, while a nice throw on a comebacker, was a long play because of poor defense and tackling. Second TD was a duck while being hit to a WFO receiver who proceeded to outrun everyone on NDSU.
Let’s see how the rest of the evening plays out…

But would you want Deion hanging around your organization shooting his mouth off? It's a real concern IMO
I welcome Deion, he will call out Giants leadership like no other. Fine with it.
I mean this with all due respect, but thank god you are not running this organization.
The Giants always seem to go through a prolonged slump in their history, but us fans are usually rewarded with multiple Super Bowl wins. I'll take that over what you see as leadership in Colorado.
There are many other options that will inevitably be available. Better options, too.

With all due respect, did I say I wanted Deion leading this org? No, I want more pressure on Giants ELT to produce. Deion will be like a fan with a mega phone, maybe quicken getting out of the old habits. Im just not scared of Deion like you all are.
Or....it could be a massive distraction and make handling Shedeur extremely difficult.
I don't think they'd want the uncertainty.
The Giants have won Championships without that kind of noise, they can do it again.
Hopefully he'd be calling out the CB2 problem right now.
Hard to argue that. However, Shadeur is actually a pretty humble guy and bright. And he seems very accountable. Shiloh, on the other hand, has major legal issues and is more like Deion.
I stand by my previous comment.
If Sanders grades out as the best QB in the draft and the Giants have a chance to draft but pass on him, they deserve everything bad that happens to them.
because of the player's father? and the "circus" lol
same self-righteous choir boys and their mentality are partly why the Giants passed on Micah Parsons.
you deserve Kadarius Toney. All of you. I deserve Micah Parsons.
And yes, deserve has everything to do with it.

Fuckin A
Of course, it's a hypothetical scenario that allows for discussion should that scenario play out, not a rush to judgment that it will actually play out.

Pretty big assumption that Sanders is more LT/Parsons than Toney. His off the field is more Toney, that's for sure.

If he is more Toney than Parsons/LT he won't grade out as the top QB. My point was "settling" for a lesser prospect due to perceived off-field/non-football factors than selecting the best available (and of course at a position of need).

Agree completely with this. But it goes back to what I have said about John Mara for a while. Priority #1 to him is the perception that the Giants are viewed as a classy organization. Priority #2 is winning football games. I would love to see that change, but I don't think it will. It will always be an impediment to winning for this team.

What is his off the field issue?
Agreed. Very good player, but I don't think he'd fit in NY.
I do agree that there's this perception that he must be some mega athlete because of his Dad, but really he's nothing to write home about there. He can move around a bit to buy time, but no one is going to mistake him for Lamar or Jayden. You also have the Shurmur factor this year where his numbers will likely look even better with simple reads. His best attribute by far is poise in the pocket.
I don't see the sum of the parts or any untapped physical upside adding up to a high 1st round pick.
The normal QB inflation on draft day is maybe negated by his Dad's traveling hype circus.
To be fair their last win against an FBS team was in 2016. Not sure beating the likes of Kansas State, Kansas, Colorado St., and Minnesota when they were the dregs of their conferences is that impressive.
The one "impressive" win was beating Iowa in 2016. Iowa was no. 15 preseason and beat Miami of Ohio and Iowa State to move up to 13 before losing the NDSU. Iowa ended up 8-4 in the regular season and got smoked 30-3 by an 8-4 Florida team in a bowl. So Iowa ended up being much worse than expected and not ranked. A good win still, but I wouldn't credit them with beating the 13th best team in the country.
NDSU has a great FCS program, but it's not out there beating up even decent FBS teams. Colorado is not a good team despite Deion's bluster and the media fawning all over him.
His son is a pretty good QB but I don't want him and Deion anywhere near the Giants. He's another aspiring rapper who drives a Rolls Royce. There have been internal problems with teammates, with a number leaving, because of the entitlement he has been afforded by dad.

No major issues, but how does one separate the difference between Toney and LT/Parsons? Toney was interested in a rap career, Sanders looks like he may be too.
People shitting on Mara because of the recent failures forget the 4 Super Bowl rings, like it's something that he'll never be able to achieve.
John Mara had absolutely nothing to do with the first two. He didn't work for the Giants until 1991. Hell, his father had very little to do with those two - George Young had complete control of the football side of the operation in those days. The later two, he was the CEO but how much input did he actually have then?
I think Beck will remain QB1, but Weigman certainly has a shot, so long as he remains healthy

is that Conner Weigman is QB1 come April 2025

I think Donovan Smith will be in the top 5 maybe even top 3
He is a student of the game and from all accounts takes film study serious. I am assuming Dion will be a Colorado next year and really not be in the mix around Shedeur.
If we are in the top 10 there is a good chance he will be in the mix for the Giants.

Deion doesn't need to be geographically near the East Coast to potentially create a problem. Anything that's said in the media will be a story for the local beats, and certain national media types won't even wait for a quote to start offering their analysis of the situation.

He's definitely very toolsy
And people forget that when his backup had to play, the OL magically got better b/c the backup took his checkdowns and didn't hang onto the football.

The Maras seem like good people. I don't know them, so thus 'seem'. But it's pretty apparent they don't know shit about football. & I fear The Nephew-who I'm assuming is going to be running the franchise after John-is even more of an idiot than John.
Hey...have a great time in College Station. Hope ND comes up big...

The backup you mention, Ryan Staub, started one game for CU and passed for 195 yards accompanied by four rushes for -12 yards. He was sacked twice. The running backs rushed 14 times for 49 yards that game. In relief for Shedeur, against Washington State, Staub went 5 for 14 accumulating 56 yards. He rushed six times for -2 yards in that effort. Tell me, how did the OL perform better in Shedder's stead?
You clearly don't know what you're talking about so I'd suggest you stop posting and revealing your ignorance.
Corder Clown Sensationalism - ( New Window )
By the way, three of the best players to ever lace up a uniform for your program are coaches or at dern near every practice of CU's! Warren Sapp (gold jacket, Assistant DL Coach), Michael Irvin (gold jacket, Prime-a-donna), Ed Reed (gold jacket, Prime-a-donna).
Here's Ed Reed pumping up the team this week!

This is a big if and a lot of projection here since Sanders may wind up the 5th or 6th best QB prospect or the Giants may pick #1 and have Carson Beck rated higher so it would all be moot. but it's fun for some of you to issue edicts and proclamations about what the Giants will or would do that are unprovable just like it's fun for me to disagree with them, but if - Sanders is the best QB prospect (or he grades out like you want a franchise QB to grade out) and he is available when the Giants pick they take him or they should sell the franchise.
The fact some of you seem to co-sign on the approach to avoid him is weird too. I'd sit through 1000 Deion Sanders press conferences and read 1000 stupid articles about the distraction he creates if the Giants are winning (and I'd do it with a smile on my face) before reliving the past 5 years.

Wellington should have had little to do with the first two. He let Young run the franchise.. As it should be.
And there's good reason for wanting to avoid Deion. Case in point, look at the circus the Tennants create every year. Do you want that for the Giants only bigger?
