at Nickel is intriguing. He'd be one of the slowest nickels in the NFL and I'd imagine it's just for designation purposes. They won't have him covering slippery slot WRs.

Difference between speed and quickness. Simmons isn't slow, but he's not overly quick.

who made the 53 at ILB. Wild to think how closely we all follow this roster throughout the offseason, only to have a guy like that on the 53, basically out of nowhere.
I don't remember a Giants depth chart that included such specific roles for each member. I believe in years past, in some cases, they had a lot of repeat guys on the roster - JAGS to replace JAGS with the hope that maybe some day one of them would develop into something...anything. This roster is different.
Take the WR room for example - it would appear that all of them have a very particular skill set that can be utilized in different offensive packages.
Same with the DBs.
IMO, this is the most thoughtful roster and depth chart put together in quite some time.
Giants listed Van Roten as back-up center (but I don't put the same guy in two spots).
They also listed Slayton and Hyatt as co-starters.
Where did they list them as co-starters? On the depth cart, they are in the same position with Hyatt as #2. Unless I read it wrong. Started WRs are: Slayton, Robinson, Nabers
3 of our 4 OGs and 3 of our 5 IOL were not on the roster at the start of training camp
If you want to know how I feel about our potential to have a bad season
Ezeudu and Neal are our backup OTs
Would you care to make a declarative statement based on those premises?
Personally I see a much improved roster. Once Jones is off the books and we can land a rookie QB on a much more amenable salary, the window for this team to compete for a championship will be wide open.

b/u slot quickly. I don't imagine he's going to stay CB2 for very long. If he does, good for us. Nubin-S and Johnson-TE will probably be starting soon. Surprised Slayton is b/u returner, I thought that job was goin to Tracy. Once Tracy's 100% good chance he moves up to RB2
Is the OL. Will the activate Neal after so little preseason action? Is Kubas someone who has shown enough they would activate him over o e of the tackles.
The other is Adore active, but I would be surprised if he is isn’t. Hawkins would surprise me if he is.
I think the red rod the actives are set based on health.

I know this is going to sound like me being a dick and I don't mean it to sound this way but ...
Why would Neal not dress? Who else has taken snaps at RT? The answer is no one. I have brought this up numerous times and people seem to ignore it. I see the term swing tackle used a lot here. Either people don't understand what that term means or they just don't understand how football works. We do not have a swing tackle. We have a back up RT and a backup LT. Like it or not, that is the truth. I would be SHOCKED if Ezeudu and Neal weren't active. They are the backups at each position. Not one other person on the roster has practiced at either LT or RT other than the starters.
Then they'd get pundits and hacks and nimrods like Leonard
twattling on with retarded questions in briefings about why wasn't so and so playing playing and so and so was, so they removed "official" from the depth chart so they didn't have to deal with it. It's been this way for a good long while now. I could be wrong, don't think I am though. Seem to recall looking into this years ago myself.

He's listed as McFadden's back-up, but we will see if that means anything.

Maybe he's been better in practice? Because in the preseason games he has looked awful. Tomon Fox outplayed him IMO.

we need an improved pass rush which in turn makes the secondary look that much better
Is Adoree ready to play cb2 yet?

Adoree probably has to "win the job"
