Running Back Devin Singletary
Q: Week 1 coming up, how are you feeling right now?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Excited. Very excited. Ready to get up there and have some fun.
Q: You got any nerves going into this?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: No nerves. It's kind of like controlled excitement. Trying not to be too anxious. Ready for game day to be here. Just excited.
Q: What do you need in terms of your role with this offense? You play a very important role on this side. Where do you feel like you're at? Comfort wise after camp?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: I'm very comfortable. I'd say just ready to get to it, ready to do whatever they need me to do so we can get some wins.
Q: Obviously, any week it's important to get a win but you got two right out of the gate that it feels like there's a little more pressure given what the schedule has right after that, right?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Yeah, definitely want to get off to a fast start, starting this week. We got a good opponent, good defense, a lot of pressure going to be coming our way, but definitely want to get off to a good start.
Q: What's the transition been like for you, especially coming in and joining this running back room that is very young?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Yeah, it's been smooth. It's been really smooth. Familiar with the offense, so that definitely helps. I knew a lot of the guys in here. That also helped. And as far as the running back room, those guys have been great. I believe we're ready to go. Even though, like you said, they're young, they're definitely ready to go.
Q: Does this week feel just different after the grind of a long offseason, knowing that you have a real game to play on Sunday?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Yeah, it does. It feels a lot different, but in a good way. We can stop beating up on each other. We get to go against an opponent, and it counts, it's definitely different.
Q: Minnesota's a team that's going to bring the house. How important is it for you guys to run the ball, slow them down?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: We'll see how important it is. I feel like they're going to pressure us either way if we are running it or not. That's just what they do. That's what they've been known to do. But if we can get the run game going, that'll definitely be helpful.
Q: You're following a guy who has established himself here. He's a big star here. Do you feel any pressure at all following (Philadelphia Eagles running back) Saquon (Barkley)?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: No. For me, it's playing ball. I've been doing this my whole life. So, just be myself and go out there and have fun, but no pressure.
Q: What do you think makes you different?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Different? Mentally, I guess. I don't know him personally, but I feel like my mental has always set me apart from a lot of people.
Q: How?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Just the way I go about things. Just being a dog. Just coming in every day, in and on the field. I'm going to give you everything I've got. And the guys can feed off that energy.
Q: How excited are you to get started and show the Giant family the kind of player you are?
DEVIN SINGLETARY: Very excited. That's what I was saying, it's kind of like controlled excitement right now. I'm trying not to be too anxious. I'm very excited.
