I am going 20-17 Giants.
If we are going to win 6 or 7 games we have to win this game. Although I hate the matchup of Jefferson and Addison against our pitiful secondary, I do think our pass rush will protect it enough this week vs Sam Darnold to sneak out a win. But, it will be close.
Dline will wreak havoc on Darnold.
I think Giants win 24-21
I hope I'm wrong.

LFG!
Vikings have talent in playmaking spots, but they have questions at QB, RB, and on defense especially - they focus on unit defense, but don't have enough playmakers on D - if Jones and Daboll can't make a statement, going to add to the nerves and worry.
Giants - 27 - Vikes - 16
Home opener against Sam Darnold. It's possibly that sub-consciously manufacturing confidence from a place of fear, because if you can't win this game, buckle up for a longggg year.
The giants have some holes, but I expect that the defense is talented enough to keep the Vikings pretty quiet.
On the other side of the ball, I think we have a strong cast. I think a fully healthy Jones should be able to do enough to get this done.
Giants fans go wild!!!!
Giants offense is more run heavy than we expect. Jones with a typical home line: 200 or so yards, a touchdown, maybe an int or fumble.
Mike Lombardi (as annoying as he is) pointed out something that I've been hammering this offseason: Jones has traditionally not put up a lot of points at home in his career. Lombardi mentioned that Jones is 17-6-1 on hitting the under at home.

Darnold is picked at least once by one of the safeties (Nubin or Pinnock). Burns, Thibodeaux and Lawrence wreak havoc on the Vikings line and disrupts their pass game.
Giants have at least one "explosive" pass play which either scores or sets them up in the redzone.
The Giants have had a terrible track record on these types of anniversary/honors games.
Vikes get two TDs resulting from blown coverages and PI’s but Bowen’s D stiffens in the red zone in the 4th to secure the win.
The offense shows some flashes but a couple of mistakes costs them points. DJ will throw an INT resulting from forcing it to the rookie. But they’ll do just enough to get a W.

Jones will have all sorts of trouble with Flores' confusing defensive scheme, make critical mistakes leading to several Minn. scores.
They will have trouble executing the offense against this defense and points will be hard to come by.
He needs to prove me wrong.

If Jones puts up some big numbers, that would make me much more bullish on the season overall. He does not have a track record of lighting it up at home.

Big plays from Nabers, Tracy and Nubin
I can't see us losing at home to Darnold.
You’re basically asking Sam Darnold, who’s a worse version of Daniel Jones, to go on the road and win a game. You can count on one hand the number of good road starts in Darnold’s entire career. He went 4-2 recently as starter of the Panthers almost entirely on the back of CAR rushing for massive amounts of yards. While the Vikings defense improved substantially under Brian Floyd, they still don’t have a lot of talent on that side of the ball.

This does feel like a win, but then again, so did opening up against Denver in 2021.
