I like that the podcast is a fresh and unique take, rather it not be too much of a focus on threads or posts which we’ve read. Maybe if you pick a post and then use that as a launch to a discussion, but have it be your takes.

The podcast is great btw. Makes my hour plus commute better!

where the site promotes the podcast and vice versa. Over time, that should produce more revenue — but probably not right away.

The award for worst post seems harsh, it's pretty subjective, and I think it opens the door to a form of cyber-bullying that is off-brand for BBI. I would lean toward something that builds community; after all, that's part of why political threads are banned, right? Best and worst prediction of the week might be better. Who got the 53-man roster right? Who called the score correctly in advance? Who was way off? Factual stuff.

you should praise the really good posts and ignore the bad ones as it will just incentivize the trolls to post even worse garbage to get a call out.

but agree with other posters to keep it positive. There’s enough negative energy and trash talk in these threads.

I’d rather see a discussion on a thread and why a particular post may be misguided.

First of all, my suggestions to Eric were in the nature of establishing an identity and reaching out to a younger demographic who might not have any idea what BBI is, which is why I opened with, "What is BBI and why should I want to look inside it?" I thought it would be advantageous to link the podcast to the website for the benefit of both, and suggested a number of things, not all of which were content-related.

Now, it looks like this suggestion was the impetus for this thread:

A younger demographic likely would be more interested in youtube-type shorts, not text.

Listening to your podcasts in my estimation have gone positive not the somewhat negative cynical person I've come to expect. Lets keep up the positive energy maybe it will rub off on the Giants.

If a post is bad, somebody should tell the poster about it immediately. By the time it gets on a pod cast everyone has forgotten about it.

I'm guessing that if Eric were to designate a "Post Fixer" whose job it is to "correct" posters who have violated Eric's rules for posting, there would be dozens of volunteers.

And not list the poster. Sure people could tell if they remember it or look it up, but it would be fun for all of us whose posts are not on the list.

The good post will be interesting to read for anyone who might have missed it. However, the bad post will be a hell of a lot more entertaining!

Is absolutely the way to go. Lampooning is good and necessary, but highlighting good takes that get buried in Miller’d threads about DJ would be great to see.

Or "Best German The Thread" poster?
Or a weekly "Cooking with Bill in UT" demo.

We already have some pretty bad ones on a regular basis and rewarding them would just encourage MORE. We need more GOOD posts.
