Vikings coach and about probably 50 posters on here ajr.
Christian, I don't need another soft one entering the equation. Go work on another fairy tale story about yourself....it's been a while. I need a good laugh.
You're seeing things old timer. I suggest some 80s VHS tapes and sleeping it off.
Are so blinded by the QB that you don't realize that it is a team game including the coaches. Jones was garbage today, we all know that. When the whole team looks like garbage, something else is an issue.

You’re down playing the impact of the QB position.

I've watched plenty of team win with a less than average qb. This is a team wide stink. We likely need another house cleaning and a new QB next year.
While Jones doesn't even try? Neither QB is anywhere good enough and Taylor has plenty of faults, but at least he tried to push the ball down the field and succeeded at times.

Jones play is demoralizing to the entire team ( and fan base for that matter).
He is awful. I have no idea how anyone can view it differently. He doesn’t produce any touchdowns- it’s a complete joke.
Vikings coach and about probably 50 posters on here ajr.
Sam Darnold was the QB for Minnesota. Sam Darnold. Who, when last seen at MetLife, was seeing ghosts.
And one of the few QBs on earth worse than Jones. Yet, he was completing standard NFL throws throughout the game.
Maybe it's because Darnold is in his seventh year and Jones in only his sixth...?
I've been saying for a while that Darnold and Jones are peers - if I remember right John called me out specifically on the show for being wrong on that.
While Jones doesn't even try? Neither QB is anywhere good enough and Taylor has plenty of faults, but at least he tried to push the ball down the field and succeeded at times.
Since the beginning of last season:
Games started by Jones: 1-6
Taylor & DeVito: 5-6
Because Jones is petrified to make a mistake, he has no idea how to anticipate wrs breaking open or throwing a guy open..
They got a whole new coaching staff that is actually competent. This is not a single player issue.
How do we know if this coaching staff is good or not when they have one of the worst QBs in the league?
This coaching staff schemed their way to a playoff win. They aren’t incompetent . But you can’t make a cake with dog shit.
One trick ponies that defenses figured out. They have yet to counter or come up with anything since.
What do you expect them to counter eith when the QB refuses to throw it deep? he skips passes to wide open players, he cant even read a Defensive end who is sitting on a screen..
He cant make a simple read and then you expect him to than adjust?
I didn’t come into this season with any expectation whatsoever about wins or losses.
Instead, I was thinking that maybe the Giants would provide their fan base with “watchable” football.
That’s it. WATCHABLE.
Welp, my expectations were way, way too high. Today was 60 straight minutes of unwatchable football.
And now the only question remaining: Will this franchise defile its entire fan base this season, just like last season and so many other seasons since 2017?
Was at fault for the lack of creativity in the run game today or the defense giving up 12 straight completions to Sam Darnold? We have posters that went to the game and said no one was open. I can capitiulate that Jones sucked but some of you are so blinded by him that you can't see the whole picture here.
I wish it was just a Jones problem. Fixing one position would be the ideal problem.
Nobody was open? He short hopped multiple wide open WRs
I've been saying for a while that Darnold and Jones are peers - if I remember right John called me out specifically on the show for being wrong on that.
I was wrong. Darnold is clearly a better player.
I was so convinced Jones was > Darnold that I bet a nickel on him and NYG.
So, you are not alone in that stupidity.
RE: Nobody was open? He short hopped multiple wide open WRs
You guys used that excuse week 1 last year. Did you have an issue with them not playing the third preseason game?
When the QB sucks, the rest of the team is going to look bad. The defense only gave up 208 passing yards, and had the game at 14-3 at half, despite the Giants having 68 yards at half.
The wide receivers look unprepared because all of the passes were garbage from the very first one.
Saying the team looked unprepared is just making excuses and shifting blame. The Texans looked unprepared every week until they got Stroud.
Like everything today, the defense stunk.
RE: RE: RE: The Texans looked exactly like the Giants
They got a whole new coaching staff that is actually competent. This is not a single player issue.
This is precisely a single player issue.
Right, it wasn't the defense getting shredded by Sam Darnold and it wasn't the line creating penalties play after play (whole team had 66 yards of penalties really quick). Just the guy behind center only played poorly. It wasn't the HC who called a QB power run in the bunch formation against a blitzing DC on a critical short yardage situation.
The Vikings HC flat out said it to your face and you want to look the other way.
when the all 22 comes out tomorrow and the beats start posting wrs running free that Jones missed
Jones did play poorly. The receivers had a couple drops but only Nabers was making catches in traffic. The defense and coaches had poor games themselves.

Are you suggesting our $160M Man can't check out of called play for another?

Outside of a rookie QB in Chicago, which team won today with their QB playing "poorly"?

I'm sure he's being given that leeway.
Why is Daboll and his shitty day being ignored? Minnesota's coach isn't agreeing with you. The team itself looked like it wasn't ready. Look directly at the penalties early to see that.

Nobody is giving Daboll a pass, but you seem so sure that the playcalling was bad, there is only so kuch Daboll can do whrn Jones cant make a simple pass over the middle
His first swing pass of the day was so bad the running back fell down

Well, you could look at those remarks by O'Connell as pretty damn self-serving, too...
How could you possibly defend this guy at this point? The rooting and excuses made for Jones is unlike anything I have ever seen in following sports.
think about it. His last good game was the playoffs in MN. Since then, he has started 7 or 8 games and had one good half. And he hasn’t just been bad; he’s been brutal. The Eagles discovered the key in that playoff game and DC’s have caught up; he is done.

Shane Bowen soft defensive game plan
Pass catchers with 5 drops
Terrible LB coverage in the flat
Okereke MIA except for fumble recovery
Banks is not a CB1
I can go on and on… I hope Sy does

If this is the case - and Dabol truly doesn't trust him (hence these bonehead calls) - then Dabol has a responsiblity to start Lock.
Otherwise he is letting the players and coaching staff down.
I think if DJ doesn't show something next week he'll be benched for Lock.
Are Schoen/Daboll a better tandem than Gettleman/Judge?
They're not any worse, but it's hard to be worse. But are they better?
Tough to argue right now they are. And that reality is a total disaster for Mara and the franchise. To replace two inept guys with more of the exact same is as bad as it gets.

I think Darnold puts together a Baker-lite season that gets him a $20m deal next season.
He's not good, but he's capable of putting together good season and leading a good offense imo.

The Giants had zero chance to win today.
Why did he punt the ball at the end of the 3rd quarter when down 22? If you punt there you aren’t trying to win
Why did they take so long to go to the hurry up offense? Once again, not trying to win
WTF was he doing w the personnel decisions. Why is Flott ever on the field?
He is just not the guy to lead this team.

CRYPTO-TANKING. And doing it very well, you couldn't even venture a guess. I however, see their plan.
It doesn't include any wins this year, or Daniel Jones next year.
