- It was clearly in Jones’s sight that Van Ginkel was dropping off and anticipated the quick throw and yet DJ decided to throw it anyway
- Not only that, but on the replay it looked like a DB was in the vicinity of Robinson and that he may have picked it off even if Van Ginkel didn’t
- And of course, the one-read INT thrown into triple coverage in the end zone
This is BS that HS qbs know not to do. It is fucking mind boggling that an alleged NFL-level QB would even think about those throws.
Cut this bum right now. He is barely worthy of being a third string qb.
The cap prevents that.
watch how the entire coaching staff lines up to high five him.
There is no read there. it's catch and throw. Van Gink ran to a spot (not towards the ball) to get in the lane. Elum let him do it when he should have attacked him. That play was dead as soon as it was called. of course we need to achieve the worst possible outcome, being that's what we do.

they really should just cut him.

Exactly, they’d eat an extra $30M on today’s cap. They don’t have that kind of space. It’s like the last Golladay year. Have to just let him hang out and collect his paycheck. If they were smart they’d bench him so he doesn’t trigger the injury clause and mess up next years cap.
I honestly think there’s not another NFL team who would sign him unless their starter their back up and their third stringer got hurt… Daniel Jones is lower than the worst third stringer in the league right now
So let me get this straight. You're also blaming that play on Daboll because Jones can't read a defense? A guy in his sixth year couldn't find another play to check to?
For a bright guy, you really have an incredible imagination to find ways to get Jones off the hook...
There is nothing wrong with calling a screen. The ultimate decider on the play is the guy with the ball in his hands.
He makes the pre-snap read and decides to run the play or not.
If you don't like the look, call a time out. If you don't like the look, spike it or throw it away.
Ownership, management, Giants' state media, and much of the fanbase wanted this shit sandwich.
I hope he plays all 17 games. Time to open wide and eat it.

OK then bury his sorry ass so deep on the bench Indiana Jones couldn't find him.
Touche'
He was seven yards down the LOS, no?

Exactly. The play design was awful because it telegraphed the play and didn’t allow for anything else aside from a backside slant perhaps (which they didn’t do).
Can't just let him rush upfield.
Can't just let him rush upfield.
VanGinkel was so far outside that the cut block didn’t seem like a possibility. Add in that he ran straight upfield and it was a disaster.

Cut the DE, or aggressively engage him.

If he was that far out, one of the 2 or 3 in front should have dealt with it.
Does Jones not have the ability to react to what he sees at the line? Can he audible? Throw the ball away?
In his postgame presser he talked about needing to get the ball to Robinson quickly on that play, but that play was doomed no matter how quickly he got it out there. Be a fucking quarterback and run something else for Christ sake.
that's basically what Daniel Jones does as a $40m/year professional quarterback. he walks up to the fucking line of scrimmage knowing what he is going to do in his mind. he then stares down his target. he can't react to anything the defense does in the moment.
the guy is like a brainless deer in headlights. I can't fucking stand it anymore.
A lot of people do not know what theyre talking about. The idea that the 6th year QB is a victim of bad playcalls and has no free will but to run the play and throw the ball like hes a brainless robot is shockingly dumb.

The only edit I would recommend is removing shockingly. And that's because the lengths we have seen posters willing to go to defend Jones for these 5+ years.
Hey, here's an idea. If you don't like what you see from the defense, call a timeout!
Imagine that...
He's had 1 good half since the 2022 Playoff win. But sure what's 1 more game just to be extra super sure
