My son took me to the game today.
We had great seats in the coach's area.
The great seats afforded me an unfettered view of the game.
It was the worst coached game that I have ever attended.
Plenty of blame can be laid on the players, but the coaching let them down.
The defense could not apply pressure. They rarely blitzed.
Darnold's Achilles heel is that he does not handle pressure well. So the strategy is to rush 4.
He had all the time to survey the field. The coverage was good but they lost containment after 4-5 seconds. What is very disturbing is that there was no attempt to change the strategy.
The tackles pushed the ends out wide and they double-teamed Dex. The defense never changed its tactics. Thibodeaux was non existent.
Dabol should fire himself as the play-caller. With all of these great weapons other than Robinson, nobody was open.
Part of the problem was the Giants ran a lot of 12 sets. The TEs never challenged the Vikings' secondary. Manhertz is a blocker and does nothing else. It is not surprising that the receivers were not open. The Vikings doubled Slaton (Hyatt) and Nabors. The plays were called two-man patterns.
Everything else was within 5 yards of the line.
The Vikings were jumping every swing pass. There was only one play where the Slayton used a double move. Jones pumped on that play and Slayton was wide open. This only occurred once.
The Vikings were anticipating the play calls. You could see it on their sidelines the Giants must have predictive tells and it appeared that they knew the plays.
This is only the tip of the iceberg.
The team was not ready to play. It was sloppy and uninspired. The play-calling was defensive and risk-averse.
12 personnel, short passes, etc.. It was playing to shorten the game and emphasize not losing.
This is on Dabol. He coached scared.
One other observation. Daniel Jones is shot. Almost all of his throws were off. He was throwing the ball into the ground. He was uncomfortable and was not setting his feet.
He was feeling pressure that wasn't there. He did not attempt to extend plays. If his first read wasn't there he took off. The OL played well. of the sacks only one or two were due to the OL.
I fear that Jones is done. I am not certain that he can be an effective QB. He should have been benched. The Giants will have a new QB next year.
Also, i question the manhood on this team.. They are soft and played with no emotion. They looked weak.
Alot of look like Tarzan, play like Janes out there.
Wait, I was told clearly on bbi that the roster had greatly improved

It has. That's the scary part.
This sucks
easy passes to the flat and they are out of trouble.
Big Gaps between out tackles......Jones had an easy time
on cutbacks.
Gonna be a long year.
This is becoming a trend.
The Giants are so concerned about injuries that they did not play their starters.
They needed the work.
This sucks
How? Answer: hos smoking habit jas decreased his lung capacity and he physically can give the effort on the field.
I guess you bench him. You don't come from behind by running the ball
We shouldn't let them pick a new QB
After today, no way I believe that. It's giving Daboll an excuse he doesnt deserve.
Just look at what Minn did on offense. Little swing passes, a couple hurry ups followed by a well timed screen. They kept out defense off balance...yet somehow minn defense knew what genius Daboll was going to do every step of the way.
Yes, Daboll should shoulder the blame because his veteran 6th year/franchise QB still struggles reading a defense and executing plays that are there to be made.
Now, that is "genius" analysis.

Oh for fucks sake! Daboll should get PLENTY of blame for not having the team prepared to play.
Not to mention - Daboll (and Schoen) agreed to give Jones the contract to begin with. Does he not get blame for that?!

Starting with your second sentence, Schoen agreed to massively mismanage the contract situation with Team Jones. But, yes, that was a poor decision.
Just focus on the offense for now. On much of the dysfunction today, IYV, falls on Jones and Daboll?
And while you are contemplating that, keep in mind the OL was ready to play and gave Jones time to execute.
I wish the reporters would follow up the “I need to watch the tape” response with a deductive statement for Dabs to confirm…so are you saying that you and your staff can’t assess what’s going wrong real time? 😂
