Anakim : 9/8/2024 6:00 pm
We all know where this is going.
bring em both

vrabel take over after 2 years.
Vrabel
46and2Blue : 9/8/2024 6:01 pm : link
Who should not even be available ….the team need an identity and Daboll seems unable or unwilling to give them one
Bobhy

Slowick and Ben Johnson will be hot candidates.
no we don't
bc4life : 9/8/2024 6:02 pm : link
and they may not even be the choices or available for that matter
Ben Johnson
Woodstock : 9/8/2024 6:02 pm : link
Let him pick his QB in the draft
They are not

getting a top tier candidate. I don't think those guys will want this when there are better options elsewhere. They will get a young assistant or a retread desperate for a job.
Either one will be fine with me

Make Tim McDonnell GM and end the charade.
Belichick.
prdave73 : 9/8/2024 6:04 pm : link
Let him be the GM as well.
Bobby Slowick

Belichick for HC
Tim in Eternal Blue : 9/8/2024 6:05 pm : link

McDaniels at OC. Vrabel at DC. Probably not on Vrabs but I have no doubt BB will get an elite DC.

Top 3 pick is definitely achievable. Should have their pick of the litter at QB.

New Ownership

the current owners are inept. no coach or GM can change that.

If they hire either of those guys it'd be a departure from their M.O.

They don't want a head coach to be a program builder. They want a head coach to coach. They also don't hire many experienced head coaches. Ben Johnson, Bobby Slowik...these are the type they'll be looking at.

If they go the veteran route keep an eye on Mike McCarthy. They interviewed him last time, and he hasn't exhibited much interest in the GM side of things.

But I can't state this strongly enough: if firing Daboll was even slightly in the range of possible outcomes for this season they should have done it this past off-season. That would have been the strategic approach.

I'd love to see Snoop buy the team!

What did Belichick win without Brady? Granted, their QB situation sucked but yeah. And who wants to have to replace Bill with another HC a few years later because he’s so old?
Vrabel

I changed my mind.
prdave73 : 9/8/2024 6:43 pm : link
Both. This Org needs all the quality coaching possible.
I'm not hiring a guy in

his 70s. I don't care who it is
Slowick and Johnson
BigBlueCane : 9/8/2024 7:13 pm : link
ain't coming to deal with this clown show.

They know they'd have to deal with the Maras.
Belichick isn’t taking this job.
Section331 : 9/8/2024 7:14 pm : link
He wants Shula’s record, this ain’t the team to get him there.
We’re gonna suck until 2031

..
I am hoping Daboll can work out
chuckydee9 : 9/8/2024 7:19 pm : link
He performed really well with backup quality QBs (Tyrod and Tommy) last year.. He went to playoffs the year before with an average backup quality QB. We should give him a chance to coach or at least draft his own QB.
I think it would be Vrabel
DavidinBMNY : 9/8/2024 7:25 pm : link
Enough guys with ties to that team around as well. Go get a QB and go win a few games.

lol, sadly that’s probably true. I don’t see any young coordinators coming here. Not the coveted ones. Too much turmoil and no QB.
Many of us thought Daboll was coming in
Mike from Ohio : 9/8/2024 8:06 pm : link
To develop a young QB. It seems like that was not the case. He and Schoen - for whatever reasons - hitched their wagons to Jones and their careers may be much shorter because of it.

Whoever they come in next has to be someone, or bring in someone, focused on developing a young QB. This team has been languishing with bad QB play for the past decade and that has to change.

Let the next regime pick their QB, and after 2 years see where they are. If it was the wrong guy, let them try again. If they miss a second time, it’s time to move on. What can’t happen is falling in love with a prospect and letting him fail in slow motion.

Man I do not want Belichick
Jerry in_DC : 9/8/2024 8:08 pm : link
He was so bad the last few years in NE. That is the classic Mara move and I'm nearly 100% sure it would be an epic disaster
I would take Vrabel
moespree : 9/8/2024 9:39 pm : link
Of these two.

But Mara will probably hire Belichick and it will implode in his face. As usual.
All I know
JoeyBigBlue : 9/8/2024 9:46 pm : link
Is that I don’t want t a first time head coach. We need someone with experience to build a culture. A coach that has enough pull to hire his own GM.

Their offense was bad primarily because of QB. Defense was top 10 last several years
