Defend him in the post-game. Actually, Papa said he has been a supporter but essentially said a QB can’t be that sloppy. They need to elevate their team even when things are bad and Jones didn’t do that.
during the radio broadcast today. They'll back off tomorrow to "rust" and "preseason" and "play-calling" and "Washington," but they didn't mince words about DJ, the receivers' not getting open, and the lack of a pass rush by our D. Thanks to our performance, Banks and Papa's enthusiasm level was solid Recent November standard.
RE: Dottino referenced poor OL play in the post game
Pretty sure it was Papa who said the idea of "halftime adjustments" is silly. And that in this league you have to adjust each series, and Daboll never did.
and "Jones played awful against the Vikings." I don't think anyone is going to tap dance around the second one. The company line, if there is a coordinated company line, will probably be that. I think "He's awful" isn't going to come from anyone paid by the Giants. You want to hear that? Turn on sports-talk radio. You'll hear plenty of it.
fussed on Hard Knocks about paying Jones and a number one pick
at the same time. Then told Schoen that Saqoun was the franchises most marketable player.
Schoen fed the Giants beat writers the " we have a limit" on the position and then begged Saquon for a chance to match when it went over his line.
He also underestimated the effect Saquon leaving would have
on Jones.
Jones failures are physical....it's his mental approach.
should explain those two QB runs at the 50 when it was still a
game. Two in a row. You have the 6th pick in the draft.....throw the ball down the field.
Did the Vikes get a big play on a long pass??? Bad call but the got it.

Barkley being gone has ZERO effect on Jones's passes going into the ground. Gimme a break.
RE: Dottino referenced poor OL play in the post game
There will be questions about the Oline, questions about the play calling, questions about the defense. Jones will just have had a bad game coming off his injury and a very long layoff.
As far as I could tell the OL still isn’t any good…
Dotino and his partner (ex lb, I’m blanking atm) basically said all 3 phases looked bad, including DJ. That some rookies did good things but the stars/vets were too quiet except Dex.
Then there was a question about whether they should play more preseason, then too much babble about preseason and it being shorter and other guys looking sloppy too in other games that felt like stalling/killing time because what can you say. They did say (as Banks and Papa said) Vikings were in our weight class and blew us out. Not good.
but the Oline was markedly improved. Jones had 4-5 seconds frequently and on a couple of sacks, he ran into the defenders. Mostly, DJ bailed after staring down his first read. Your mileage may vary.
Is Superman still a free agent?
Heard Banks today as was leaving the stadium, play for pride,
play for your teammate......it's week 1.
His defense of those two back to back runs by Jones at the 50
is pathetic.
Dottino can't be taken seriously. He claims to be interested in identifying problems and suggesting solutions, but that's not what he does.
Then he wasn't watching.
That's a good one.
Or "First Game This Offensive Personnel Has Played Together" for $500 Alex.

Just dumb.
