There no question, the way the Giants played vs the Viking was terrible & wasn't the way we thought they would play; Daniel Jones played horrible, the play calling wasn't good, at times defense didn't play well, there was some drops, at time there was free player or some pressure allow by the line (even though the offensive line overall performance wasn't bad) & the team committing penalties. If the team continue to plays like this, we in for a long losing record season, but at the same time, its only 1 game even though it's a concern. This is year 6 for Jones and he still making the same mistakes; he is very inconsistent & we didn't surround him with a good team until now. As far as Daboll & Schoen, they know just as well as the fans that there is some uncertain with the future of Daniel Jones; if he turns around and has an exceptional season, everyone will forget about this game; if not then this is his last year and at some will get benched. I don't blame them for giving Jones a contract after his 2022 season & the way 2023 season played out and this game was unpredictable. Also the quarterback class in 2022 was not good, we went to playoffs and was picking 25th 2023, & we couldn't get the quarterback in this year draft. If you give Dave Gettleman 4 years, then I expect Daboll/Schoen to get another year as well. But anything can happen at the same time. I don't expect Jones to get bench until another 2-3 games, unless his performance changes/team wins the game. All we can do as fans is hope the team turns it around, hope Jones gets better, and the team progress/competitive in each game this year. If we win enough games and go to the playoffs, Jones will probably be back; if not then Schoen/Daboll will get their quarterback.
I agree that it looks like Jones took a step back & he need to play better & be more consistent. Its only week 1, let's see how the season will play out & go from there. Like I mention, if things go south/continue like this, we definitely drafting a quarterback in the draft; if things get better and we win games, then there is a chance. We just have to wait and see.
it will be an awful year, but not one to get upset about because it isn't like they didn't try to make a change, they just couldn't get it done.
2022 was smoke and mirrors and we sucked after the 6-1 start.

It’s every week 1. Outside of 2022 we always get off to a bad start, and it appears this year will be no different

They played Dallas and Philadelphia then, and other teams (at the time) on their level, but heading in the right direction in Detroit and Seattle. They did beat Green Bay, Tennessee and Baltimore early that year but the others weren't really good teams.
But even coaching has fallen off since then.
