The billion dollar stadium looks like a colossal air conditioner compressor, it's freakin grey. The stadium is shared with the Jets.
Now look at other teams. Stadiums are 100% co-branded with the team. Some are located right in their respective cities, like Philadelphia, Baltimore, San Francisco, etc. Look at Green Bay, the entire area buzzes with excitement starting 2 days before the actual game, with local eateries, bars, etc. Look at that spaceship stadium in LA. The Giants have the NJ Turnpike. Maybe Moonachie? Nobody cares.
Who gets excited to go to MetLife? And if you do....why? The $17.00 beers and overpriced pre-frozen microwaved food?
I'm not suggesting that this is the entire problem, but how does all this help? Is this depressive non-excitement somehow magnified in the player's attitude, especially considering what they see hear and feel from the other stadiums/cities that they visit?
This team, the area, the atmosphere has no life. The NY Giants are the freakin Eeyore. Grey, boring, depressed and not a fan of much.
God help us all
But this franchise has bigger problems. I'd watch them play at the field behind the YMCA if it meant we operate like a 21st century football team.
Was talking to a couple of Cowboys fans who are going to the game in a couple of weeks. They asked me if there were any neighborhood bars around the stadium.
I chuckled.

the NFL needs a relegation league. Which will never happen.
THIS !!!!
There are a whopping 1856 players on active rosters in the NFL and 160 PS players. There are 704 starters. Look at those numbers!
The talent pool is so diluted, that you may be correct. It's a sad state of affairs.
San Francisco plays right in the city? Levi's Stadium is in Santa Clara, 42 miles from San Francisco, and a lot of Niners fans don't like the place.

I guess I was thinking of the other Giants...it is right there in the city for baseball....whoops.
But why are my other points silly? The place is depressing as hell.....Philly has a buzz...Baltimore has a buzz...you don't think that this in some way could transfer to the players. I mean if all things were the same, but the stadium wasn't a big grey blob, it would probably help...I dunno man....
