Brutal Schedule between BOTH games against Washington...

Giants play against Washington in both week 2 and 9. In between those games, the Giants have an extremely brutal stretch of games from weeks 3 to 8.

@ Cleveland
vs Dallas (Thursday Night)
@ Seattle
vs Cincinnati (Sunday Night)
vs Philly
@ Pittsburgh (Monday Night)

Three of those games are national Prime Time night games. I know both the Browns and Bengals lost too but they had a much better showing than the Giants.

Historically, the Giants have owned the Washington Redskins/Commanders. Although if they both those games in week 2 and/or 9, they could realistically be looking at 0-9 heading into their week 10 game in Germany vs Carolina.

These two Washington games are crucial to at least try to be competitive in.

We stink but so do the Browns, Steelers, and Bengals just got beat by a team as bad as us. Football is wacky.

We will probably lose though.

I will be able to go to bed at halftime of those three prime times games, so that cuts the suffering down considerably. I'll probably watch the afternoon games all the way through regardless of the score.

Honestly - I don't expect Washington to be the Giant's punching bag, as they've been in the past, for much longer after the franchise reset they did.

With tanking for Ward. Or Beck. Or Ewers. But I don't think management is that forward-thinking. If we didn't do it last year, with a supposedly better QB class and Dabes with lots of leeway after his COY award, I can't fathom them doing it this year. We're still too backwards of an organization for that.

being 0-9 doesn't mean they won't be back in this place. It could even extend it.

“own” Wash, but a lot of those games were won on getting some lucky breaks. That’s the funny thing about luck, it will turn on a dime. If they lose this weekend, things will get very ugly.

Sure, we’ve got games v DeShaun Watson and Justin Fields (or Russ Wilson?), but we just made Sam Darnold look like an all pro.

By the time we play Washington the second time they will be better.
