This. IDK if it's the Giants'way, but it's the Mara way. They seem to be incapable of running a successful business. The next hiring decision will be as bad as the last ones, and so on down the line. And the way the NFL is, they can continue to make a fortune just by showing up.

How many scouts remain from the Gettleman and late Reese time period?

They all seem to get along well and can make some great small talk during dinner according to Hard Knocks, but has that group been shaken up much?

Engram belongs on that list. To me it seems evident he can just be added to the list of the collateral damage Jones has wrought.

I watch a TON of college football, 3-4 games per week at a minimum, and it's so easy to identify the real football players from the pretenders and yet every offseason the Giants go off of everyone's radar and select the biggest risk or gamble possible rather than the easy layup.

This year seems a bit better, for the record.

KT makes some plays here and there to tease you, but he goes AWOL way too much. Those are the types of players you just can't trust. And that shouldn't be rewarded - right now - with a second contract.

Dallas, who is much better at drafting than our team, had Thibodeaux and Neal at the very top of their board if you believe the leak of their draft board that year.

I could understand if Giant GM'e were reaching into later round talent to take first round guys, but pretty much everyone agreed those two were top 5 worthy.

zero. It took 2 off-seasons to purge the scouts. It's all Schoens guys now and 5 rookies started yesterday and 6 played. That's how bare the cupboard was.

The exact thing I heard from a few coworkers who were big Ducks fans was that Thibodeaux was a smart kid who didn't love football and would be thinking about the next stage of his career the day he got drafted.

I still get irrationally optimistic every year before the season starts and then game 1 I'm brought back to earth. But yeah, the Giants being a positive aspect of my life is just a memory like college and my 20s. Yeah, I wish I were still in my 20s. Yeah, I wish the Giants were still good. I'm not and they're not. It's just the way it is. John Mara is a buffoon. Until that changes this is all we'll get from the Giants. Lots of people shit on Tepper and he's an egomaniac or whatever but no one would confuse him for an idiot. If he ever puts his ego aside he might actually be a good owner. Banks is flying under the radar because the whole team is a disaster, but he hasn’t been good.

Neal was a better college player than KT. Yes, he had issues that Sy and others outlined, but his tape was consistent.

KT was not. I was pretty anti-KT leading into that 2022 draft and said so repeatedly. I watched a number of Oregon games that year to get a better feel for him and he would do the same disappearing act we see now. He would be dominant for a series or quarter, but then it was right into the football witness protection program. I really piled on when video surfaced about how much he wanted to build his brand... ;)

I've said it since before the draft. It's not what you want from the 5th pick, but Thibs is a linebacker, not an edge rusher.

It is too early for me to give up on Thibs. Time is running out of course.

I meant to add Neal too. He still has a reasonable chance to be a plus player.

I’m still a Thibs supporter but Sunday was massively disappointing.

Stem from the lack of talent at defensive end

He’s played well against backups and had some free rushes due to winks scheme. I’ve yet to see him line up across a quality player and give that player fits throughout the game. He seems very average at best
