Romantics will want Belichick to come home, but I'm passing. He'll be 73 next fall (Coughlin was 69 when he forced out amid concerns that the game had passed him by), and he hadn't done well in New England after Brady left. And who the hell does he bring in as his OC and DC? Are we really going to have Joe Judge back in the building?
And anyway, why am I supposed to believe Belichick can see his way out of QB hell when the reason he has no coaching job is that he handpicked Mac Jones?
No chance in hell Mara would ever hire Harbaugh. That's why I laugh when people talk about the Giants possibly taking Shadeur next spring...that sure AF isn't happening.

I have to agree that Shadeur would give Palpitations even more palpitations.
I saw video from the Chargers locker room after they won. It was awesome.
"Who has it better than us?!?!.....nooooooboddddyyy!..."
Ideally this would happen Monday morning so They could start trading everyone they can for picks.
I think Mara would like the idea of Vrabel because it wouldn't be a total overhaul. Cowden is already in the building. He's DC is already in the building. Maybe Vrabel would agree to work with Schoen since Schoen is very close with Cowden too.
It's an easy transition. I'm not crazy about Vrabel. I don't like how it ended in Tennessee and he never figured out QB there long term. However, I strongly prefer him to a first year HC.
only because I've always rooted for him (except when he played the Giants) and I want to root for him as HC of the NYG.
I have no idea who the Giants should or shouldn't hire. I'm always wrong and easily fooled. The older I get the more I realize how little I know about what happens on an NFL field today.
All I care about at this point, what I want so badly, is for the Giants to find and hire people we can root for who can win NFL games.

Are you saying Mara is more meddlesome than the average nfl team owner? I would question that.

Im not saying that, but he is very clearly involved in the day to day, and so are his family members. In fact they're in decisionmaking roles in football personnel.
Belichick ran football operations and delegated to his handpicked guys in NE. That would never happen here. Hes not coming here at age 73 to work in a Giants football-by-committee approach or have to explain his thought process to John. He wants to win enough games to pass shula and retire, not save John from himself and dig out of a hole.
And John doesnt want to be sent off to the sideline to watch like a fan either. He's involved because he wanrs to be and feels like he has a right to be despite 1 winning season in 10 years.
because he is younger so could be a long-term HC. However, I was never impressed with how he came off on Hard Knocks a few years ago but can't argue that he has had success (though not great success) as a HC.
Vrabel. Belichick hasn't had much success without Brady
Little Bill can be his D.C.
Vrabel is another story.
Yeah, awful awful John Mara. Such a terrible person.
This is very true. Good luck getting either of these two.

BTW, I watched a lot of the Chargers/Raiders game on Sunday. JFC, what a beauty that was watching power football with Harbaugh. He's unbelievable.
It made me very envious of the Chargers timing that just right and spiteful we didn't get involved in those sweepstakes...
Exactly.
The league knows.

Nice person, to the extent it makes him an awful boss
I'm sure they do, but if they're that good they will have options. Why would they choose to work for a meddling loser?

These dudes have healthy egos & I'm sure both Vrabel & BB think they can make it work. And I have no doubt both want back in as head coaches.

Yet another Mara is meddling conspiracy theorist
Lame

He wants to bring Cowden to be the GM? Fine.

What are you talking about?
Are people going to perpetuate this shit day in day out without any facts?
A lot of losing doesn’t necessarily mean Mara is a ranting and raving hybrid combo of Jim Dolan and George Steinbrenner.

Also have a plan to finally compete at the LOS on both sides of the ball.
