You never know with USSF but credit to them and Matt Crocker in particular.
Yup, good that it's official -

the USMNT is in need of some kind of kick in the butt at the moment.... hopefully Poch is the guy to do it.
Great coach, same players.

We're more talented than ever, but it's not fantasy football. Focus, effort, and discipline win, along with luck. I'll be thrilled if we get out of the group stage.
Good Hire For US

Recent play has shown that the US has much less depth than we thought. World Cup performance really depends upon health more than anything. Players from the first team will get injured and as of now the depth we anticipated has not played well.

Adams, McKennie, Weah, Dest all need to get healthy and have at least one year to train with the new coach. McKennie, Reyna, and Adams need some real PT with their clubs. US needs a goalie who is playing regularly and right now that is certainly not Turner. Need to find someone other than Ream in the centerback position next to Richards. Still need one player to emerge as the striker.

It will be a great challenge for the coach who has a reputation for developing young players. Question is whether he can do that at the national team level when he might see these players only 7-8 times a year and with no major tournaments coming before the WC.
