Why do so many Giants fans want to be the Titans?

cpgiants : 9/10/2024 10:10 pm
Where do Cowden, Bowen, and Vrabel keep the rings that they won for the Titans organization?

Granted they were pretty good at trying to run, play defense, and win without a quarterback. Which is our typical MO, to be fair.

I'm still not out on this regime and I'm hoping for a good season, but if we blow it up, get me Ben Johnson and the quarterback of his choice.

Am I missing something with this Titan worship?

Taught us all a lesson about racism, or teamwork, or something.
I'm not sure it works like that

If it did, we would've become a combo of the Bills, Chiefs, and Ravens
vrabel has a .545 career winning%

giant fans want to win and in his 6 years as a coach he's done it.
I don't sense that...

But Vrabel is mentioned - rightfully - because he had some very good success in Tennessee. And he's a young guy who built tough, hard-hitting teams.

Hell, the guy went into New England in 2019 and beat the BB and Brady in a divisional round playoff game. And soundly. It was Brady's last game in a Pats uniform...

A fan of Vrabel but a lot rides on who he chooses as his offensive coordinator. It's right there with QB as importance of a team.

A guy like Bobby Slowick or a young OC like Ben Johnson are very intriguing, but does Mara hire another unproven HC candidate?
Vrabel had one nice Cinderella playoff run

And then lost at home the next two seasons . I wouldn’t have a problem with him or anything, but they way people slobber over him, you’d think he had a ring already.

I think the appeal is he was winning with an average/average plus QB like Tannehill.
I don't understand the criticism of the available options

If Belichick is too old and Vrabel isn't good enough, then who is good enough?

And wait and see if Mike McCarthy becomes available...
Mike McCarthy ?

Look, this guy has had incredibly talented teams in Green Bay and Dallas, a HOF QB in Rodgers and a top 5 QB with Dak, and has ONE Super Bowl to show for it.

Plus, his teams are undisciplined and make mistakes at the very worst times in the playoffs. What makes anyone think he would be a fit here?

Yes, he has a great record regular season, but that's more a function of how talented his teams are, as well as being in weak divisions. When he was in the NFC Central, the rest of those teams stunk, and he only has to worry about Philly in the NFC East.
most people associate the Giants

with Great defenses or defense heavy/oriented teams.

Even when the League has made it blatantly obvious they overly favor offense.

We shouldnt excuse failure or write off success

We are in this mess because of 5 years of “Daniel Jones just isn’t surrounded by enough talent “. McCarthy is the reverse

Mike McCarthy has won consistently for nearly 20 years in the NFL with two different teams. That doesn’t happen just because you had “good talent “

We are gonna quibble over why he “only” won a Super Bowl or how he has avgs nearly 10 wins a season over 18 years?

People here basically threw a parade for Daboll, Schoen and showered Jones with 160 million bucks for 9-7-1 in 2022. McCarthy averages that win total a season for a generation of football.

Dont excuse failure or belittle success.
Ben Johnson and his multiple rings

Don’t forget, he had Favre for 2 years too. I agree, I’d much rather someone like Vrabel over McCarthy. Who can forget his 15-1 GB team losing at h8me in the divisional round? As a Giant fan, I’m thankful for it, but it doesn’t inspire confidence in the coach.
