The only way the Giants move forward over the coming years is to draft the next QB. It’s going to take another shit season to be in the best position to do so without paying a kings ransom to trade up. It’s going to be painful, but necessary. No more Pyrrhic victories for this franchise.
If Daboll doesn’t make the change to Lock or DeVito soon
He will lose the team and his job. Jones has looked cooked since that Seattle game last year. Lock and DeVito aren’t great but they at least give the team a chance at making plays down the field.
when they start out on O with a run and then an ineffective quick out that gets dropped. Maybe they'll finish the 3 and out with a draw.
None of this, get the QB easy stuff to get into a rhythm BS. Nothing is easy for him. Defenses are sitting back waiting for that shit, have been for a year plus. Daboll has to tell him, attack the defense downfield or I'm yanking you. Jones doesn't need kid gloves. He's paid a ton of money. He needs a kick in the ass and to know, perform or go.

I'm afraid I have to disagree the organization looked fully behind Jones and they brought in zero competition. They are rolling with Jones and will reset with a new QB next season, Daboll will coach him up the best they can for this year until they are out of the playoff hunt and bench him for the injury guarantee but no one in the organization has hit the panic button after week 1.
You haven't been paying attention for the last 12 years.
Empty seats have caused unprecedented turnover in GMs and HCs. Why? Empty seats.
We're about to see half-empty seats in October.
Paid for empty seats. The stadium is sold out and you might not get the parking and concessions but it's not the loss of revenue that hurts
The organization is tone-deaf to it and will continue on the course it has put out. I believe everyone will be back next year and draft a top 3 QB and fill the stadium like Washington and the Bears are doing right now.
We will all be excited at draft time etc... Vent and flip out but no one actually walks away.
RE: RE: It's also about not completely losing the team
You can't tell me that the team doesn't go out there expecting the worst because their starting QB clearly doesn't belong on the field.
Yup.
Can you imagine what was going through the minds of the players after the pick 6?
+100%. Anyone that played team sports at any competitive level knows this to be true. The cream comes to the top sooner than later and we’re on year 6. That dog doesn’t hunt

I get it, better draft position for the new regime.

I don't know for certain, but I assume they make a ton of money off concessions. The margins on fountain soda tend to be very high, for example. The Yankees used to get killed in the media for always opening the Stadium for obvious rainouts-to-be and then sending fans home after they got in the ballpark and bought their drinks and food. (I have a friend who did DD on two separate U.S. sports franchises, I'll ask him if he has a sense.)
The optics are also horrendous, and as Eric said, it's led to change a lot recently.
In recent years, the networks (corporate America) have tried to help Mara by not showing the entire stadium. It's all part of the great pretending society we now live in. But they can't completely hide it and when you get glimpses of 1/3 to 1/2 of the stadium empty, reality sinks in.
If this team is 0-3 and Daniel is still QB, look out.
Daboll named quarterback guru....Brian, What did you do to earn this?
I handed the QB the ball.
I told him to throw the ball.
I told the WR to run out there somewhere.
I told the QB to throw the ball somewhere near the wr.
If scary men in other uniforms come at you, duck or run.
If you run, look around for another receiver in our jersey.
If you throw it to a person in the other uniform, let him run past you into the other end zone so you don't get hurt.

I totally believe it. I was at the game Sunday (apparently I'm a fool) and a ton of fans left in the 3rd quarter. I stayed because I was sitting with 2 friends whom I rarely get to see, but otherwise I would have considered it. And a few of the people I saw leaving had previously told me they're season ticket holders.
DJ has never been a good QB, but this version of him ('23 and '24) is flat out broken. As bad as he was, he had always thrown more TDs than INTs and highest INTs were rookie season at 12. Whatever happened phytologically a year ago between the abominable Oline and injuries he suffered, he's broken. The '23 and '24 offenses with him are as bad as the end of the Judge era.

Thank you for sharing. A lot of those other revenue streams may be locked in, and 6% of a large number is still a significant number. Especially for the Maras, since this is their only real source of income.
But perhaps you're right, no one knows for sure.
RE: I think this team will make a big leap on offense this week
My reasoning is simple: they were not ready to play last week and the penalties, lack of execution and misfires showed that they hadn't practiced enough at real speed.
I'm taking game 1 as the last pre-season game and the start of our season this week. Beat the Commanders and then beat 2 - 0 Dallas and all will be well.
Lose the next two games and its over for this team this year as well as next because Mara will need to clean house and start over yet again. Guys like Jones, Slayton will be gone and a new offense installed.
like the rest of us. As the owner he has power the rest of us don’t.
When he sees half empty stadiums, it makes his blood boil and he is triggered to act.
I could see him telling Daboll to bench Jones (if that’s what he feels is driving the fans away.)

Simmons: "Hopefully they know what they're doing more than I think I know what I'm doing. So I'm just trusting the process and hopefully thinking things are best for the team. But personally, I love to be out there, sh*t, every snap. I feel like there's a lot of different ways I can help the guys.

The organization is tone-deaf to it and will continue on the course it has put out. I believe everyone will be back next year and draft a top 3 QB and fill the stadium like Washington and the Bears are doing right now.
We will all be excited at draft time etc... Vent and flip out but no one actually walks away.
From what I have read, the bulk of the NFL team income is from TV and sponsorships.

If this team is 0-3 and Daniel is still QB, look out.
You mean the American corporations that make billions and "Pretend" to care about us?...

You haven't been paying attention for the last 12 years.
Empty seats have caused unprecedented turnover in GMs and HCs. Why? Empty seats.

Thank you for sharing. A lot of those other revenue streams may be locked in, and 6% of a large number is still a significant number. Especially for the Maras, since this is their only real source of income.
But perhaps you're right, no one knows for sure.
Denial - it ain't just a river.
When he sees half empty stadiums, it makes his blood boil and he is triggered to act.
I could see him telling Daboll to bench Jones (if that’s what he feels is driving the fans away.)

Unless he is a Daniel Jones fan and the Mara's have in the past stick with players they like personally

CB/LB Isaiah Simmons said it was the first time in his life he's ever not played a defensive snap in a game. Called it "shocking" and "confusing." He didn't see it coming until practice last week. Hoping he's implemented more in the game plan this week.
Simmons: "Hopefully they know what they're doing more than I think I know what I'm doing. So I'm just trusting the process and hopefully thinking things are best for the team. But personally, I love to be out there, sh*t, every snap. I feel like there's a lot of different ways I can help the guys.
"So like I said, nobody ever wants to not be in there, so not being in the game plan was frustrating as hell, but I'm just controlling what I can control right now."
Simmons said a lot of these decisions were above his paygrade.

This Team I just can't follow the thread any longer.

Lost in the Jones mess is that we have some other potential locker room issues potentially creeping up.
Kayvon and Simmons just to name a few already venting or showing frustration.
Id give him a shot rushing the passer on 3rd and long. Can't be worse than Ojulari. Otherwise, I don't see a role for him, absent injury.

Perhaps Thibodeaux should concentrate on making a play or two before lipping off.
