There could be an argument that the Panthers are actually much worse than the Giants and that they will get the number 1 pick again this year.
If this is the case. Would you want to acquire Bryce Young? His situation is actually quite worse than the Giants. His team is going to be awful again. Obviously, you do not give up your first round pick for him but maybe your 2nd? There is a lot of top CBs and DTs in the draft that can help this team.
Would do you think it would take to acquire him if you think he can be available?
So no, thank you.
Situation is horrible for sure. Maybe he has an upside outcome of being a Tua kind of guy who gives you a high ceiling in a really good situation. But it seems to me that there are a lot of situations where he would just be bad.
Beck
Ewers
Ward- my current favorite (after Beck)
Dart
Allar- if he can do it for a full season, he has all the tools.
If you hate Mara - Tapper is worse
His skilled players are worse
I would say yes.
Young was an excellent college QB. His size is a huge problem as JonC pointed out. But I am not sure the book is written on him yet.
2 - Leave everybody other than Dex, Thomas and Nabers in Europe
Look, I believe Young is a better football player than Jones. He has better instincts and awareness. But I agree the size is a big negative. And it seems that would be a major knock in the body type Schoen and Daboll prefer.
So, Young isn't worth anything more than a day three pick at this point.
While I wouldn't mind watching him play for NYG right now - because I can't stand watching Jones anymore - Young isn't a long term solution.
That’s a great point, but the money is wildly different.
Actually- on a really good team, Young might be better due to better processing and (possibly) throwing. On a bad/mediocre team, Jones is probably better because of his normal size and running ability.
