1. Lamar Jackson(BAL): 4.9 yards, 63% comp
2. Jayden Daniels (WSH): 4.7 yards, 71% comp
3. Josh Allen (BUF): 4.6 yards, 78% comp
4. Daniel Jones (NYG): 4.4 yards, 52% comp (YIKES)
5. Gardner Minshew (LVR): 4.3 yards, 76% comp
6. Justin Fields (PIT): 4.3 yards, 74 comp
7. Sam Darnold (MIN): 4.2, 79% comp (which doesn't speak well to the Giants defense)
no the stat is for most of the game the Giants WR had a 4.4 yard gap between them and the defender during parts of their routes. A QB who can place the play should have a field day normally.

with the type of defense being played than the ability of WR’s to get open. The Giants were playing primarily zone, which is going to give higher sep numbers.

Yeah I get that, I was referring more to Minny’s separation numbers having more to do with the Giants playing mostly zone (although having the best WR on the planet doesn’t hurt either). I’m not sure if Minny played more man or zone.
Moreso the fact that Jones comp% is on average about 20% lower than anyone else outside of Lamar is the eye-opening stat here.
Bottom line is if guys are open, the QB needs to find them and get them the ball.
It’s like having a few extra guys in the secondary.
Sesame Street tip from Big Bird: He's wearing blue.

Does that stat include all receivers in a play or the receiver who was thrown to? Huge difference. I would bet it's the receiver who was targeted. There is no team that would have all receivers open by 4.5 yards on average every play.
my issue with the playcalling was mostly rz first half where they just didnt take shots into the end zone enough and settled for fgs.
that said, given how the second half went that may have been the lesser of 2 evils.

Understand the Daboll called a bad game thing people were pushing. It's like no he called a fine game with his receivers getting open. Daniel Jones just couldn't hit any of those open receivers and when he did they had basically no chance to gain any YAC.

It all comes down to the QB. There's a reason the Giants were offering 6 picks to trade up to 3. They don't have confidence in our current QB. If he can't hit open WRs do we expect him to thread the needle in tight spots in the red zone? I don't. We see what happens when he tries to thread the needle in the RZ. He gets picked after forcing a pass to a guy that had a ton of defenders around him. I forget what former QB it was, but they broke that play down and Nabers had space on the opposite side of the field. Orlovsky (believe it was him) said he'd much rather Jones throw Nabers way on that specific play than the pass he did make.
Yeah, same. Maybe it was a good game plan, maybe it wasn't, but how can you tell when the QB plays like that?

Exactly!! Maybe it was good. Maybe it was shit, but let's stop automatically saying it was shit when the QB looks worse than a HS QB. It's very hard to tell like that. I know guys were open and passes were thrown high, low & wide. Guys weren't even looked at in certain situations (The EZ INT) based on the last 6 years and 100 different coaches he's got fired I'd have to blame it more on Jones than anybody else.
I have had it with everyone else on the field screwing up and making DJ look bad..
