Julian Edelman on The Herd (about Bill B)

jvm52106 : 9/11/2024 12:23 pm
Colin asked Julian his thoughts on Bill B returning to coaching and then asked about the Jets. Edelman said "The real enticing one to me is the New York Giants"

He mentioned Bill B loving the Giants, the organization and if that job were to be open to him it could be the one.

would prefer the Giants over the Jets - that's some breaking news
only an absolute fucking moronic idiot

would even mention the Jets.
Not interested in Belichick.

Despite his record, he is nowhere near Shanahan. He's just the guy who coached a team that had Brady behind center. Hard pass.

Would kick this team in the ass like some need (Thibodeaux). They would be required, and I mean that with much emphasis, to nail that OC hire.
he's 73

does he have the juice still? Remember Gibbs coming back to the skins? Nostalgic, but is it really the answer?
He Hates The Jets Organization

no way he would go there. On the other hand, he has always loved the Giants and I think he'd jump at that job

Marv Levy was 73 and still led the Bills to the playoffs

My thoughts exactly. He wasn't successful in Cleveland. He came to NE about the time Brady did and didn't have success after Brady left.
At this point in time

I don't think Bill is the answer to the Giant's woes unless he's getting paired with a top 5 QB..his coaching staff decisions and roster decisions were not good in his final years for the Pats.

Marv Levy's last season, he was 72 and the Bills went 6-10. They did go to the playoffs the season before, when they were beaten by....Tom Coughlin's upstart Jaguars in the franchise's second season.
Almost seems like a plant

Also, I keep reading here about how he hates the Jets organization and would never go there. But, just a week or two ago, BB was talking about them in a manner that seemed to be laying the groundwork in case that job opened.
no one has to defend BB
Shirk130 : 9/11/2024 2:27 pm : link
but reading a couple of comments here makes me wonder if some of you have any clue at all. BB is one of the greatest coaches of all time. The run in NE is insane and yeah it had to end eventually. But if you think he can't win without Brady then you were definitely not around when he was winning multiple Super Bowls with the Giants.

He was never a head coach with the Giants. The proof is in the pudding. He was never able to put together a winning team without Brady and then Brady went on to win without BB so it's pretty clear.
are you 12?
Shirk130 : 9/11/2024 2:57 pm : link
seriously, any Giant fan around in the 80's will tell you that Little Bill was a big part of that team's success. And if you don't believe the fans ask LT, Carson or Banks.

Come on, this is ridiculous. He won his first Super Bowl when Brady was barely functional as a starting QB. He was FAR from the Brady we saw later on. He got a little too in love with analytics, especially in the draft, later in his tenure, but the guy can coach.

That said, he isn’t a fit here, he’s 73, not the age for a rebuild.
