get a pass on this current roster? All I hear is that he's an ideal candidate when/if Schoen gets fired. He sounds the part but does anyone REALLY know what his role is and what input he's had on the draft and overall roster build?? Seems to me like he's culpable as well.
Exactly how did he come off as a yes man
Whet were you looking for from him based on Hard Knocks?
I think of (and not as GM but just as examples of this trait)
Shanahan telling his GM that his 7th rd draft pick was his best QB on roster and not either the guy they traded multiple firsts for or the guy that had a 100 mil contract
Belichick telling Kraft that Brady was starting over his 100 mil “like a son” Bledsoe after a 2 INT bad loss and Kraft telling him that he “cant protect him if he does that” meaning he would be fired if it backfired and Belichick proceeding to hold a press conference announcing Brady as starter for the rest of the year .
Come to think of it
Try to keep up?..:HUH
Again…what specifically did he do to make you think he was a yes man and what specifically were you looking for from him
But in reality, Schoen might prefer to do things his way.
I have heard that Brown could be gone at the end of this year.
Captaining the ship...either ours or another teams ship will provide Brandon the ability to do things his way (which may or may not be different than Schoen's.)
If he goes off and is successful, it will be another painful blow to the fandom of the Giants as well as the organization.
Maybe he is a great at what he does or maybe he is a big part of the problem. Just not a lot go on imv.

They passed on Jake Ferguson and Isaiah Likely to take Bellinger.
Agree that Brown has done nothing to warrant replacing Schoen if the latter is fired.
Any specific reasons? He was considered a rising star coming out of Philly and a huge get for the Giants. Did they hire him just for the hope of getting the draft picks? I don't feel good about anyone in charge top to bottom at the moment so I'm curious about why.

Yes men? I didn't get that impression either.

That would probably, unfortunately, confirm that he's useless

Great post.

Lynch reports to Shanahan, btw. I absolutely love that dynamic, and it's the correct reporting structure.
Why? Because the HC is the football expert in terms of his program, development, strategy, etc. Does anyone in their right mind think Schoen is in the same galaxy as Daboll with all of the aforementioned? NFW.
Hence, the HC should tell the GM what he's looking for in terms of personnel - college and pro - and the GM brings in recommendations. If the HC likes what he sees, he then instructs the GM to provide contract recommendations, comps, cap implications, etc.
This traditional set-up is so ass-backwards.
Wasn't he OC for Denver for those 80s Superbowl teams and then OC for the Niners SB champion in the 90s?
