Jerry and Chris from TGI joined New York Revival the other night and, as usual, Chris had some interesting information about Kayvon’s tiff with Ranaan.
Apparently there was more that went on afterwards and this is the 2nd time Kayvon has gotten into it with a media member in the last few weeks.
I’m not a big Ranaan guy, but KT seems very much at fault here and it’s troubling to hear all of this, this early in the season from someone that’s supposed to be media saavy and one of the leaders in the locker room.
Fast forward to 25:20 mark to here the story.

Seems Ranaan has a habit of being an irritant.
But yes, Thibs needs to show up on Sundays on the field, not the locker room.

Ereck Flowers, it was the only person he got a clean block on his entire time as a Giant.
I am actually on board with you here. KT is a tease- shines here and there but seems more "thought" than "play" and is more "self focused" than I want my edge guy to be. If we want a QB in 2025 draft, KT is a guy who could fetch us a higher pick than some think (now) and it would be worth being thin outside this year to get our QB next offseason.

I am not defending Ranaan on the whole, but I listened to the post game WFAN show on Sunday and heard the interaction between them. Ranaan was asking, professionally, about what happened on the field and why KT was unable to deliver more results. KT was rude and then dismissive of Ranaan's question. When Ranaan asked "is there a problem with that question," KT asked if any other reporter had a question....basically telling Ranaan to go stick it.
If you want to play in the big boy market, answering questions is part of it. Grow up, show up, and/or shut up time for KT.
They should be looking to offload him while he still has value. He's not well rounded and may never be but he's a useful player. i.e. not a cornerstone. We need as many assets as possible to potentially move up to get a QB.

It's Rule #1 when dealing with the media....and Rule #2 is refer to Rule #1 whenever you're confused about what to say.
Well, that definitely means they won't be trading him during the season.
So long as that’s part of the tear-down… great!
What will Thibs fetch: a low 4th / high 5th?

If they're smart they'll trade him during the season.

Schoen will decline his option, give him a prove it year and then pay him a DJ-type contract. And then he will go back in decline.
But Eric in Li will say it’s a B+/A deal.
The same was true in college where he played well when up against lower level competition.
Once again another player who never earned his starting position.

simply say, “I didn’t play well enough, we didn’t play well enough, we all have to play better” and move on. You’re never going to win these battles because reporters will always have the last word.

His buddy puts his feet up on the coffee table and so he says, "Rule #2: no feet on the coffee table."

Nit a great look for someone talking about being a superstar before he got here.
Remember Wink calling him out last year.
lol
But everyone is right by saying all he had to do is just say I need to play better. The defense needs to play better. Getting baited by a media member only makes the player look bad.
Another let’s wait and a hope and pray. No way

He’s still only 23 years old and probably has some maturing to do. Dex didn’t really start playing at an elite level until year 4, so there’s time for Kayvon. Let’s let him finish the season before we offload him.

Thats silly. You dont have to "wait and hope". Hes already had big games, and he had a good season last year.
Well he's not making connections that way.

What would you say to those pass rush win rate stats?
+1. To add, I'd consider putting a few more on the block. This team is becoming quite unlikeable in addition to being a bad team.

In your opinion, what does it mean to earn one's starting position?
The reality is, on a crappy roster, it's a pretty low bar for a rookie or young player to quickly demonstrate that they're the best option to start. Are you suggesting that young players should potentially be intentionally held down on the depth chart until they earn a role against a higher standard than just being the best at his position on the current roster? Who would you start while you're developing that rookie (or young player)?
Would you start a lesser player (usually a stopgap/journeyman type) to prioritize the development of the younger player and ensure that they don't ascend to a starting role until they reach the level of play that merits it, even if that means that the player you're starting as the stopgap is also beneath that starter level that you've defined (and may, in practical terms, be at a lesser level than the young prospect)?
It's easy to criticize the practice of playing young players before they've earned their role, but I'm curious how you'd actually address that as a flawed practice, particularly on a roster that lacks talent at key spots to begin with.
