We absolutely killed this team when we bunched up and ran crossers, but instead, countless times on 1st and 2nd downs this guy sends only 2 guys on routes against one of the worst secondaries in football… WHY?
Also where are the tight ends in this offense? Johnson was supposed to be this mismatch machine but we can’t even get him involved.
I agree with half that. But this same QB hit those underneath crossers today,.
I think so as well.
I agree.

He can't read a defense so having two man routes with an outlet makes it easier for the QB to read the defense.

It definitely is. The OL played fantastic today. Andrew Thomas is flat out dominate in every aspect of football.
So play someone else. Daboll needs to win. Unfortunately for him, with mistakes like today, he doesn't have much rope left.

You may want to re-watch that play. Nabors may have caught it if he threw it there, but he was sized up and would have been destroyed by the closing nickle back. 5 yard gain at best, injured Navkrs at worst.
I'm not disagreeing with you.
For Brian Daboll, it's year 3 and he made the same game costing mistake he did last year with Gano.
We all want to see them win and it's frustrating.
^This. He is coaching to try and not get fired.

Maybe he's not that good.
I'm seeing a pattern with these drafts.

Yep, coaching not to lose and scared.

Have you watched him play? The kid has enormous talent. It’s hard to tell when he isn’t used. It’s insane Jones didn’t look his way near the endzone.

Yep, all of this. Very Judge-esqe. Something does not equate, by not playing Hyatt he is really only hurting himself. Losing with DJ throwing terrible balls is better than losing any other way. If DJ is the reason he is not putting speed on the field then he only has himself to be blamed.
More posters are also seeing the finally coming around to his issues as a HC that some of us have noted for a long time now.

I will also add about Hyatt not playing because he sucks theory, again isn't Hyatt the same player Daboll was ok with selecting in the second round of that draft?
If he keeps his job, putting out an offense that can function with the QBs on the roster will be the reason.

Honestly, that sentiment is a bigger indictment on Daboll than it is on Schoen.
What you’re saying is, Daboll can’t coach guys up at all. Unless you’re drafting superstars round 1 through 7, Daboll can’t develop players.
Let’s play this game. Can we name 5 players who have gotten better and better throughout the season and over the course of multiple seasons under this coaching staff?
I think it should be a discussion every week. This team is losing and coaches should be judged on how they allocate the resources they chose to spend capital on.
Personally I think Hyatt makes a better decoy that would give Nabers more space to do his magic. Daboll is a supposedly creative coach, and we are talking about why Daboll using so many 2 WR routes.
I think it's a legit question and concern

Ok, let's talk through this. Hyatt makes a better 'decoy' than who?
I'm all for getting guys reps, but he's not a better player than Slayton or Robinson at this point in his career. Nothing he did in camp or preseason presents a case that the coaches are seeing it wrong.
Jones isn't the type of QB that's going to go through 3 reads and then make a throw anyway. He's proven over six years that he doesn't see the field that well.
The problem, like most of the problems with this team, is that this approach isn't aligned with how Schoen has built the roster. If you're running 12 personnel, then you don't need both Hyatt and Slayton (all the deep balls went to Nabers yesterday anyway). It's also very telling that Bellinger, a 3rd year guy, barely saw the field despite the 2 TE sets.
So that means they were in 12 for 4 snaps thats all game?

Manhertz was the preferred 2nd TE, who had 23 snaps.

I missed manhertz, thank you, they still had 3 WRs on the field more than they went with 2 tight ends..

This +1. It's why coaches lose the locker room. Not fixing things that are broken, week to week or in-game. It's not screaming and tablet flips that take the 'want to' out of them and makes them spew when Ranaan and Leonard go chumming.
