Hate is a term used on this site by people who don’t understand the word. Rooting against a guy in a game is not hate. If some actual tragedy befell Barkley tomorrow, there would be nothing but best wishes for him on this site. Nobody would be reveling in it.
Nobody on this site hates Saquon Barkley or Daniel Jones. If you think they do, you don’t know what the word means, or you are blinded by your own biases.
I will leave out the name to protect the innocent, but there was a poster who was adamant Barkley dropped passes on purpose to avoid being hit. That was kind of weird.
All of you that are saying F-Barkley please bring that same energy on that day. I love Barkley. Best player by far in a dismal time in this franchise’s history. Now that he’s gone this team is one injury away to a WR of being unwatchable. Who are we kidding.
If you think Barkley is a better football player than Andrew Thomas or Dexter Lawrence - then you didnt watch many Giants games.
RE: RE: RE: RE: You could say Nabers cost the Giants the game
With his drop. It was Nick Sirianni who cost the Eagles the game.
It was a tie game. How did Nabers not converting that 4th down play cost the Giants the game? You remember there was no such thing as field goal range on Sunday, right?
Yes, but there was still TDs. And taking time off the clock.
What does “there was still TDs” mean? There are always TDs available. Did Nabers drop the ball in the end zone? The one yard line? No. He stopped a drive that was by no means certain, or even likely, to end in a TD. It stopped a drive that could have ended in a TD.
I don’t know why some posters won’t walk back incorrect statements they make.
Not to belabor the point, but from Sy's write up:
Quote:
The drop on the final drive, however, was an absolute back-breaker. Giants likely win if he brings that in.
Barkley crunchtime error goes back to 2018, in which the 1-3 Giants are playing the panthers and are down 24-30 with 2 minutes left. Eli hits a deep ball to the Panthers 15, then hits Barkley in the flat on 1st and 10, and he could've gone down at the 1, but instead does an increadible leap to score a TD, leaving the Panthers with over a minute on the clock to move down and hit the game-winning FG (hit by Graham Gano).
I remember this well because Fatman in Charlotte was screaming at everyone that clock management was stupid because it was important for the Giants to immediately hit the 30-point milestone they had failed to reach with MacAdoo.
Man some of you are so miserable you can't bring yourself to enjoy one
second of football. Of course we'd all love to be able to enjoy something the Giants did, no shit sherlock. I mean can you just let us enjoy our one crumb of football enjoyment this weekend? I would generally have no beef with Saquon, but come on he slinks off to our arch rival, blasts us on the way out with that pathetic social media post with his daughter, then gets 3 td's week one and we have to hear it. Screw him and his end of game choking ass. And screw that douchebag insufferable asshole of a coach they have. Oh and also screw that absolute rock bottom of the genetic gene pool of a fan base they kept panning to in the stands.

Not when you need the TD, because you can't presume it. You could have a false start. You could get stuffed.
Also, in the situation you mention, the Panthers could have called timeout and then what? If you sneak it in from the one the next play, you've only used up a few seconds, while taking a big risk of not scoring at all.

...about 30 RBs in the league can do for a fraction of the cost.
Eagles RB position hasn't been a problem in the past due to the OL - and they did it by committee.
If Barkely stays healthy sure he'll be a top stat RB - but that's just because they've dumped by committee. Gainewell is hardly playing and I didn't see a third back play at all.
Telling stat: Barkely's longest run was 11 yards. He really doesn't make people miss in the open field and has sort of become a physical type back - which lends itself to injury.
Hate is personal and so is the decision to share that one is actually hateful about someone or something.
Just because people don't act in a way that I think is hateful does not mean they do not hate.
I think there is plenty of real hate in sports with fans and players, the hate that only a few actually admit. Where there is passion, the recipe for hate exists.

Barkley’s drop still resulted in a FG and 6 point lead. The Defense got carved up in 60 seconds. Then the Eagles got the ball back and could have gotten in FG range had Hurts not thrown an awful pass.

Agree. He was 22-95, avg 4.3, long 11. That's not bad but behind that O line it's not special either. Bijan Robinson was clearly the superior RB in the game.

HC decided not to go for an easy FG in the first quarter and go for it on 4th and 4. Came back to bite them in the ass.
Even the radio announcers were saying at the time, “Just take the points, man!“
Going for it on 4th at that point is something a David does against a Goliath, like they think they won’t get another chance. Not a move by a SB contender and game favorite at home.
players ever. People were acting like they were geniuses. Davis and Dean might be busts. Carter and Smith have some attributes but neither look like they are ready to play a full game. Meh I watched most of the game and last week too. He looks exactly the same as when he was on the Giants. Some nice runs, a lot of no gain/negative runs when the blocking isn't there and a huge drop in crunch time.
but he had to go run his mouth about the Giants "let him walk away." As if, one, he didn't turn down a better contractfrom Schoen in 2022 than what he got from Philly this offseason, and two, that he didn't want out the door just as badly.
Fuck your rules. With literally nothing else to get excited about the Giants, Eagle fans being mad is always a great consolation prize and the fact it has to do with an ex-Giant? I'm going to gloat and gloat again because, F the Eagles.

100% Stu. It amazes me how many fans can't take context into consideration. He's Saquon Barkley. We know everything about the guy. Eric from BBI would average 6 ypc behind that OL with Brown & Smith at WR, and I still think it's hilarious the Eagles felt the need to sign him to stick it to the Giants. Sure - build your team around the coach-killer Barkley, who's been unexplainably poor in pressure situations over the last 5 years and it showed up again. His inability to convert those memorable plays are part of the reason Schoen didn't want to pony up for him.
What did our organization do for him? Provided a shit QB and offensive line and horrible coaches. Then instead of paying him they franchised him and paid Jones instead.
Stems from the agony all those shithead Eagle fans endured last night and this morning + dickhead Siriani looking like just that + Saquon coming up small in a big spot. I do not wish any sort of injury for him, but I do want him to fail for walking out on NYG and being a douche during contract negotiations in ‘23.
Ha. Only BBI where some don't understand basic thinking and have the sense of humor of a crotchety old lunch lady.
No one is hating on Barkley, we're just enjoying one of the few positive football moments that has gone our way.
Our #2 overall pick hopped from our team to our biggest rival ever, in his second game he dropped the ball in front of their moron fans and people on here don't understand why this is funny or we're getting excited lol
Oh yeah that's right, when Eric Lindros went to the Rangers, they didn't have any snide comments over in that city.
I feel bad for Barkley the person, for the player not so much
All we've heard is how great he's going to be and Barkley himself saying he's felt free. He scored 3 TDs against the Packers and he was going to be the MVP after week 1. He was gashing the Falcons early then 2nd quarter hit and Barkley tac kled in the backfield did too. Not sure what it is; does he accelerate too slowly or is he looking to get that TD every play still? I said it last night that as soon as they NEED SB to stay in and protect the QB the eagles are dead. I forgot about his numerous end of game 'foibles'. Glad we moved on and hoping singletary can be an above average RB behind a MUCH IMPROVED line.
...about SB's failure. He wanted to be here, but Schoen played big man and let him walk.
I'm kind of glad for SB. He suffered behind the shittiest OL possible of all time.
He was a class player while here and I'll always show respect towards him. Although, I do wish he was with Houston instead of philly.
In a $800 12 team league, drafting 11, and Barkley is one of my backs. PPR and I’m tied last night and lose the tie breaker because of bench points (I have injuries). All he had to do was catch that little one. I don’t give a shit if he scores. So I go down the tubes.
For the 10th time in 12 years.
Happy the eagles lost but the fact we want to celebrate things like this shows were a loser team.
Fuck Barkley.
First off, Barkley did not cost them the game and second, you're an idiot. He's in a better place and you don't like it. Yes we get it. Just another homer Giants fan
They are whining about everything! I think they hate Siriani as much as Giants fans do, and they're whining about their lousy defence. They are also whining about Barkley's dropped pass.
Screw Philly!

Carter fell due to his off field stuff but he certainly isn't the "generational" talent crap that was spouted but some draft gurus and many here. There was also some concerns about his work ethic. We will see long run but somehow Howie Roseman the greatest GM in league history has drafted crappy players and over paid for Barkley no matter how good he does.

If you love Barkley and think he was a winning player here, you missed a lot of games. The easy passes like tonight for first downs that he routinely dropped, the times we needed to run out the clock and he ran out of bounds, and all the times we needed to score quickly and he cut back inside for another 2 yards that cost us 15 seconds,
He is a nice guy and a talented player. He is also a dumb player who can’t make a clutch play to save his life.
THIS.
Some players are more than the sum of their parts. Barkley is less than the sum of his parts. He is a losing player. Glad to stick his energy onto the Eagles and watch the curse take hold.

Didn't a baseball team do that? Put up a banner because they won a wild card game?
Cleveland Indians? Tampa Bay Rays?
STFU with your "look at yourself in the mirror first" outlook. Eagles suck, as do their fans. It's still funny the way it went down, no matter what.
Screw Philly!
- Barkley dropping the game ending catch.
- defense letting cousins go down in 4 plays to score.
- Hurts throwing a horrific ball with plenty of time left to win the game as its intercepted to end the game.
- Having Joe Buck soak into his tears that team he swallowed all night blew the game.
That was one of the most enjoyable non-Giants games I ever watched. And I got a feeling they have a few more of them up their sleeve this year.
[quote] players ever. People were acting like they were geniuses. Davis and Dean might be busts. Carter and Smith have some attributes but neither look like they are ready to play a full game. Their run defense was pathetic, especially Huff on the edge. You can't have him out there on first or second downs as teams will just exploit him on the run. [/quote
Just awesome to see

All of you that are saying F-Barkley please bring that same energy on that day. I love Barkley. Best player by far in a dismal time in this franchise’s history. Now that he’s gone this team is one injury away to a WR of being unwatchable. Who are we kidding.
