It took two games for him to revert back to his old self. Even I'm feeling bad for him. But I think he can still turn this around. Though when all is said and done, I think he'll just be exposed as a competent OC, overmatched as a HC.
Until they commit to someone with total control over football operations not named Mara and draft a real QB, there will be no rebuild. They will be a constant joke
The first 8 games of this schedule were going to be walking a tight rope to survival with Daniel Jones and they’ve fallen after the first 2 steps. It’s curtains for this season guys.

Is driving cross country with you am alternative to spending a few years in prison? If so I bet few even consider it
There is one factor that could be a huge boost to Daboll and the Giants OR will be it's death knell and that is the rest of the East could be falling back to the pack.
Now, if the Giants can beat the Browns and turn around and beat the Boys then suddenly things look drastically different.
If however the Giants get trounce by the Browns and come back 4 days later and get beat handiky by the Boys it could be over (figuratively or Actually) for Daboll right there.
It is NOT out of the realm.of possibility that the Giants get some wins while others struggle and then the second half of the year becomes the real deal. But, a loss here and one more Thursday would end all those possibilities and basically start the countdown for another change.
The rookies look very promising, there is talent on D and many people respect Eric's opinion and he said a very logical thing that it may take the D some time to get use to the system. I agree with JVM that two debacles coming up and the wheels likely fall off as there will be a very big lynch mob and maybe rightly so, but let's just see before all this doom and gloom is unleashed. I'm tired of all the clown show antics that seem to surround this team but the season is two weeks old!
Who the fuck cares if a player or players think he’s losing the team. If that’s being communicated by players, get rid of the players. Bunch of horseshit
Since the 6-2 smoke and mirrors act in 2022 the team has been bullshit.
The team stinks. Both of these jokers have to go.
I think the Lions game that season showed what the team really was. You were shut down by the BBI lords if you dared to notice any problems with the Giants in that game.
It was nope, shut up and be grateful they played badly because they have sucked for so long.
Cute they made the playoffs and won a game but the next two games should've woken everyone up. The eagle playoff game and the 40-0 game.
Anyone who thought this season, which is and has clearly been, a rebuilding year, not to be confused with a potential playoff run, is equally insane.
You can't keep resetting the leadership and changing visions every 2-3 seasons and think this is going to be a sound strategy to building a winning program.
Success this year is not about the W-L record. It's about continuing to build a foundation you can capitalize on once you have a realistic opportunity to get a QB that can lead a winning team.
Schoen has just started getting this team's financial house in order, while bringing in young, competitive, dare I say elite talent, like Nabers, while locking up existing cornerstones such as Thomas, Lawrence, and now Burns.
This is a rebuild, and patience is required to see it through.
Cutting bait on the Schoen/Daboll era after 3 seasons, without a realistic opportunity to grab their choice of a franchise QB would be a setback to the organization, and a collosal mistake.
I've said it before but it bears repeating... With what this team has had and endured over the first two seasons, Daboll has overachieved on any realistic expectations.
The only thing missing is their choice at QB. Mara would be wise to allow them another season to acquire that guy.

While I agree with you—- last week and the kicker thing cost us the game. Good coaches don’t make those fucking mistakes
At this point, I would probably keep Schoen if we let Daboll go
I think we've seen enough good from Schoen that he should keep his job. But a couple important caveats - if this season really spirals out of control than it may be hard to justify keeping him. And also, if Belichick returns, would he be inclined to work with a GM as his partner? For that matter, would Schoen want to remain in the fold knowing that Belichick would have major input into personnel decisions?
But, these first 2 games have me seriously questioning the coaching, so I have to believe some of the players are also. If I'm a player who wants to win, works my ass off, does every thing the coaches ask (as Daboll oft says about players) and then my effort gets squandered by something like the Gano situation, I'm pretty unhappy.
It's all fair at this point; win, and the mistakes fade into the rear view. Otherwise things will unravel.
But I doubt it's close to that point. Again, Ranaan is a shit stirrer - and remember, be's an Eagles fan.
Look, a losing team is not interesting and people stop reading about it. Solution? Start a narrative which will generate "clicks". If that means hanging another "pelt" on the mantlepiece, so much the better. I've come to the conclusion that many writers are ghouls. The human cost of their bloodlust doesn't matter, as long as their column is read and they are admired. Not a nice business.
I don't doubt that some players don't take well to losing ---making it to the NFL means you are used to winning / dominating for most of your life, from Pop Warner through college. Losing is a new experience and you have to learn how to handle it. There is a danger, however, that losing may become an embedded part of the team culture. I get it, but after 2 games?
This team is very frustrating to root for. It does seem that when one component begins to improve (OL), another component blows up (D) or (ST).
I know I'm beginning to rant but writers love to kick people when they are down, especially if they don't like them or feel they (the writer) are losing "clicks".
after a below .500 season. This is a pattern with plenty of evidence. Our 3 previous coaches were fired after or during their 2nd seasons.
Even though we have had below average, sometime well below average talent, Mara demands above average results in the short term. There is an environment of instability and a complete absence of future vision and strategic thought. We've seen the coaches implode early in their careers under these unrealistic demands. We've seen the team performance and the coaching performance decline substantially in their 2nd years.
Perhaps all these coaches just suck. It's a possibility. But I suspect that under these conditions, the next coach will be in the same situation in year 2 or 3 and we'll be back in this situation in 2026 or 2027. And the fans and media will all be railing on that guy too. And John and Tim and Chris will still be in their roles, using their media pals to keep a low profile, making sure everyone realizes that they have zero influence despite their titles and their presence in the building every day.
I don't really even care who the coach is this point. I think it's far more important to have the stability to have a long term vision, which creates the confidence to be yourself, own the role, and improve at your job. Its not like these guys are lazy. They don't need the Maras standing behind them telling them to work harder.

To form on the wall and Bill B is looming larger and larger..
The Patriots draft picks rnd's 1 and 2 his last 5 years there are a big reason the Patriots are where they are today
2018

Tyquan Thornton – WR

Keion White - DB
No argument there but it changes nothing as far as Bill B in waiting and both his and Mata's interest in Bill being a Giant. I am not making a claim I want Bill B here just stating a pretty obvious Elephant in the room.
Is one of the complainers. Something is going on there and LPG-dude hinted at such on X to Bobby Skinner. Something to the effect that there is more to the story on Hyatt's lack of usage.

A few things.
Rebuilds don’t take 3+ years in the NFL.
2 of the very few good players on this roster were brought in before Daboll and Schoen.
Why would Schoen and Daboll get another crack at QB when they made their decision on Jones already and then doubled down on him?
Finally, the team is not getting better or stabilized in any way. They’re getting worse.
I don't care who the coach is, that only goes on so long before people start to ask questions. If the fans and media are asking them, its likely the team is too.
What's interesting is these reports came the week after the very questionable decision to trot out an injured kicker rather than call one up from the practice squad. Players see the same things we do.
I still think Daboll has the ability to be a good head coach, but if he doesn't get it together fast, he'll be gone at year end.
I think its clickbait personally
I think its clickbait personally
0-4 is probably the most likely landing spot exactly 7 days right from right now.
He has no margin for error anywhere else. That Commanders game is one they absolutely had to have. They put Jones in the perfect, harmless position.
You can't lose a game because you didn't protect your injured kicker.
Spoke to "a handful" and "some" of them said...
So yeah, maybe two.
And honestly, I can't believe any Giants player is actually opening up to this joke of a reporter like that. More likely he's just making stuff up.
The first 8 games of this schedule were going to be walking a tight rope to survival with Daniel Jones and they’ve fallen after the first 2 steps. It’s curtains for this season guys.
That is on Daboll along with the kicker.
He needs to smarten up quick or he will loose this team soon.

X: Well, yeah it is possible. Guys can get tired of losing.
Can he please bring LT with him
He lost me immediately when he decided to punt in the Eagles playoff game down 28-7 or whatever it was, early in the 4th quarter.
The team stinks. Both of these jokers have to go.
Exactly
Agree 100%
Schoen was not ready to be a GM.

The Seattle game in 2022 exposed how to beat the scheme.
The Giants with Jones as starter are 4-13-1 since. Having beaten only the Vikings, Washington, Colts and Cards without Murray since.
