I don't get it at all.
How do you root against anyone on this team to perform poorly.
You’re mistaking a hatred for perpetual losing and not accepting mediocrity for “fans wanting to lose”. It’s actually the opposite. Fans “don’t want to lose” but badly want to return to greatness or at least consistent competitiveness and will gladly trade a meaningless win to achieve it. They realize that won’t happen if Johnny witnesses false hope. This team badly needs a professional QB and possibly a coach with a bit of common sense.
Yes, this. I don't root for the Giants to lose, so Larry your assumption is wrong, but I understand why people do. I still think there are a lot of changes that need to be made.
But the lack of a quality TE really hampers this offense.
Johnson will get better….he’s a rookie and may need time to develop. He showed nice speed on that screen pass though. Berlinger is not terrible and is a solid #2.
RE: Dallas is in the process of getting worked over by Baltimore
Banks needs to turn around
Start Hyatt over Slayton
Daboll, what was that playcalling setting up for the field goal? We all saw that missed kick coming from a mile away.
Jones for the love of God hit a deep pass

Johnson has to catch the ball when targeted.
BTW, I thought the hold on Bellinger was a bad call - anybodt else think it was a bad call?
They got the ball at their 5 and their 9 yard line. Cleveland defense was doing a pretty good job stuffing the run and Nabors was getting better coverage on him. Do you trust Jones deep in his territory to get us out of trouble and lead us downfield? I don’t. And he stupidly almost threw a disasterous pic from out of the end zone in the 2nd half. We all know, Jones’ ceiling is okay….he is not Mahomes or any great QB who you can feel comfortable about to lead a team from the 5 yard line. Just play it safe….still try to get a few first downs, but safe quick passes or screens or draw plays.

The conservative point was when they were in FG range after the turnover and went 3 straight runs up the middle.
That is the moment you get creative and try and put the game away not count in a journeyman kicker to kick a 48 yd FG on his first game time FG in a year.
I don't get it at all.

How can you say with certainty that any win is a meaningless win?
But to root against wins is a miserable way of fandom.
I get your point, but anyone watching this team knows where this is going. I had the same reasoning last year when DeVito picked up a few wins. It was nice to experience a win but we lost in the end. I like Malik and I’m glad he’s a giant, but we aren’t going anywhere without a franchise QB…unfortunately. Would have traded those meaningless wins for May or Daniels?
As I was in 2022 as I kept posting week after week in second half season what our record was after a 7-2 start
That game looked like two teams trying to lose a football. The Browns were just more inept than the Giants with fumbles and penalties.
An ugly win still counts as a win but this is definitely not a chest thumping game
I don't think.a canary is necessary. However, the Giants weak defense still managed to shut down the Browns a lot and if not for dome odd play calling in the second half I think we win this game a bot more comfortably.
Fair enough, and I agree, but Thursday is not the day to test....few packages in first half... hopefully get his confidence up, but what we brought him in for was a massive fail today. Doubt Coughlin would put up with this so far ...it's the NFL...gotta earn your time

It's game 3!
Unless Jones has an incredible season I think they are moving on or at minimum he will be a bridge next year to a rookie.
So if we can win 7 to 10 wins and build some success this year it is better for the future. This group will get their QB but we need wins and build continuity.
We need to stop burning it down and building from ashes.
Disappointed that he could not come up with an important grab late on a good 3rd down throw.....only 1 ball to Hyatt...Slayton, before his injury was a non-factor, we have to get more results from receivers not named Nabors
Gray is not a PR nad hes not a PR, stop shoehorning him holy shit.
its costing them a lot.
insane they won with all that crap.
Dabolls blind spot is he doesn't give a shit about specials...specials were on pt today we win extremely comfortably. I mean we dominated a half...should have been 21-0...the second half is a mich different ballgame there
RE: Minnesota is 3-0.....something to be said for all these preseason
predictions. And one win is against arguably the best team in NFC.
Minnesota is clearly a very good team, they should have beaten the 49er
Ore than the score would indicate.
The nfc is wide open btw no on is that good
Yeah I actually bet on us to win NFC and East just because how bad I thought NFC was this year...still think we are an 8 win team, but might be enough to win East, especially if Eagles get injury bug...they don't look good without Brown that's for sure

Dallas’ defense looks lost. Two very easy TD drives by Baltimore.
Start Hyatt over Slayton

Now this post I fully agree with. *grin*
That's not really a sign either way.
They may look at us as a "get well" game.
Team needs Theo Johnson to step up desperataly.

And the Giants beat them I think McCarthy will be fired—will Belicheck go there in season? Could happen.

Oh they definitely did, but so did the Browns probably.

Who got hurt? Wasn’t watching closely
Jerrah's history since Parcells is to not have a coach who could get more credit than him for any possible success.
Jones at home at night hasn’t been successful.
Thursday night big now.

Offense was quite impressive in the 1st half. Defense pretty solid all around. We were fortunate that Ford dropped the handoff in the backfield.
This was one of those games between 2 mediocre teams that one of them has to win. There will be some more of those as we go.

the Giants had to play Art Green in the second half. Pretty amazing.

Both Dru Phillips and Adoree' Jackson.

Jones looked better than Watson. The Watson contract is the worst of all time to this point. Have to be fair.
The Jones deal has such little impact compared to Watson and Cleveland.

I feel more like this too. A competant NFL team would have completed that comeback against the Giants. We were just less incompetent.

Daboll is a dumb bell
Why isn't Danny DeVito playing?
SELL MARA SELL!!
oh wait......
Daboll that wily genius!!
Jones will follow Eli into the HOF!!!
There goes the 1st pick in the draft......sigh.

There's like 8 teams like that in NFL...we just beat a 500 team in a must win game at home...they were walking wounded of course so there's that.
Let's be happy until Thursdays..and who knows...maybe we finally win

It's fucking ridiculous...we have hope going into a crucial matchup...wanna bring that shit so it Friday

Come on BBI lets put out some positive vibes.
Wildly disgree...he got punished for dominating his man
.
I'll start enjoying these once they win 3 or 4 in a row. We've seen these types of wins from them every single year. It means nothing to me now.
You were in the game thread, so clearly it meant something.
Yeah it stopped at 2 minutes but just game awareness.
I really do not feel any better about this team than I did after the first two games.
Let's see if they are competitive agains a mediocre Cowboys team on Thursday night.
I'm not holding my breath.

Great. We can hang a banner - “Not the worst QB contract of all time”

Tend to agree based on the second half.

I feel better about it. The last two weeks has been brutal on here. Maybe I’ll be able to own a thread with something positive for a change.
