Past seven seasons the Cowboys are 13-1 against the lowly Giants. In those games, Dallas has averaged over 31 points a game while surrendering only 17. So, what will it take to avoid another beat down this Thursday?
Last season, the Giants were humiliated 40-0 at home and 49-17 in Dallas, allowing 12 sacks while accruing none. The good news is that our offensive line is so much better so I expect to see Daniel Jones on the ground less often. And our pass rush appears to be much improved so maybe Dak Presctt gets to say hello to the turf at least once or twice.
In the end, I think it comes down to Daniel Jones. No. It's not about him elevating his game and carrying the team to victory. That ain't gonna happen. What he must do, however, is throw accurately to open receivers. There'll be opportunities down the field. He needs to stick the ball on his WRs. But if the errant long passes continue, 1-14.
Put those two puzzle pieces together and then tell me what the picture looks like.
WTF is wrong with people?

A lot.
then third down came (3rd and short) in the red zone. False start, fumbled snap, blocked FG returned for a TD.
that showed how fragile that team really was. slightest adversity and they packed it in. I don't even think they passed midfield again.
I still don't think the Giants are there yet, but seeing them respond better this week to adversity with that debacle to start the game was a positive. Just need more positives.
In short, I think the gap probably closed a little between the two teams in terms of talent, but Dallas is still better, so it will come down to execution. that hasn't been the Giants strong suit these past few years. We will see.
Our OL is better now and their D is struggling. It is possible we could play them closer than usual. But not being explosive at all on O makes things really hard for us. We need a lot of consecutive things to go right to generate points.
Jones is terrible in night games
Jones doesn’t play as well at home.
They own us.
Dallas is not a very good team right now. In fact, I think there is a real good chance they are not a playoff team this year.
That defensive front seven is soft and their OL is a big TBD.

I hear ya... It won't be easy! My sense is the O-line and our WRs will provide Daniel Jones with a few key opportunities, and he just has to capitalize on them!
I don't think they are playing for their season...1-3 for that team is not insurmountable and I think there is a good chance they leave here 1-3....it is time, and they are not un-beatable

I disagree.
If DAL loses, there will be calls for MM's head, and with a 10-day break it isnt implausible that Jerry cans him.
And 1-3 could become 1-6 really quickly, with their next three games @PIT, vs. DET and @SF.
This is a must-win for the Cowboys.
Thursday Gameplan - ( New Window )
Has the offensive line blocked anyone on Dallas successfully. They have not needed to rush more than 4 against the Giants.
This is the matchup I least look forward to. I also expect something crazy to happen against the Giants with the Cowboys

So far this season Dallas has been horrid running the ball and stopping the rush. They have gained only 229 yards on the ground (29th), averaging 3.6 YPC (29th). It gets even worse for their defense -- dead last in rushing yards (557) and YPC (5.4). Somehow, someway, the Giants have to keep Dallas "running" in the wrong direction.
Wow--I've always thought of Bill as the mild-mannered food man from Canyonlands country.

Time for road and home QBs!
They are looking a little like a lot of the Giants teams the past ten plus years. Be very disappointing not to get a win being a Thursday night game at home.
