if so can you grab a clip of the 2nd down pass that almost got intercepted from the goaline in the 2nd half?
pretty sure daboll had a really good misdirection drag/wheel set up for theo johnson that would have hit big.
this is from the regular game feed, you can see 84 releasing across the formation through the wash with 9 already 5 yards behind him. jones got hit so the ball ended up in the middle of the field near nabers and there were a lot of defenders in that area but im pretty sure he was intending to go cross field to theo and just held the ball a split second too long.
Daboll said it was the play call post-game.
if you have the game broadcast, you can see jones rolled out hard right then pivoted all the way back to the left before releasing the ball. it looked to me like it was a designed misdirection, just mistimed the contact he took on his arm from the defender.
ty.
here's another angle of stills from broadcast, first one you can see him sprinting right with 93 pursuing, second one you can see he has hit the breaks and entirely flipped his hips to throw the ball back left but arm about to get hit in his motion.
after this play daboll started calling a much more conservative game.
thank you im going to listen to that - the playcalling went conservative right after this play. live it looked like such a bad decision by jones i actually rewound it after 3rd down and saw theo on the crosser.
my biggest takeaway from the last 2 weeks is dabs playcalling has been really good. needs to get the penalties, fumbles, special teams, and tackling cleaned up, but he and the QB are in a nice flow.
yeah that's why i want to see how open johnson was, i have a feeling jones could have just released ball a split second earlier.
